Bonjour mon ami!

People ask me about shoots! I do them 😂 mainly B2B. I don’t post about it as I am working and only really post to promote things that need to be promoted as this is a free marketing tool after all.

Lately I’ve been trying to post more photography but I can’t really promise anything 😂because social media is a whole job in itself and I also like to live/experience my life so one has to prioritise

Anywho, here’s a BTS from yesterday’s shoot with Airbnb. I worked in the AM teaching photography in the park, it was a beautifully sunny and crisp morning and we met lots of lovely doggies. Then I worked with another client delivering an art therapy session where we get to draw and paint the whole time! These were both some of my local authority clients. Then I went to my shoot! My workday ended by being asked to join the work drinks 🍷 Small biz life :-)

I’m a photographer who loves traditional art! I made this abstract the other day, only procrastinated for 10months over starting it 😅 in my defence I got engaged💍, planned my wedding and got married within 9months of that time 😂 It’s the first time I signed my new name on work too 🥰

I took this photo with a pinhole camera. You put the light sensitive paper inside your pinhole camera. You take an exposure reading with your light metre or your light metre app. Then you remove the lenscap and expose that light sensitive paper and you promptly put the lenscap back on.

The first image is the inverted image. Swipe to see what pinhole photographs look like once they’ve been developed. They basically look like a negative! Which they are.

Swipe to see my fancy pants pinhole camera. ☕️🤭

I take a few exposures and carry them around in a light sensitive bag. Then I run home to delevop them and see the photos come to life 👩🏽‍🔬🥽🥼🧪🔬🎞️📷. There’s nothing more magical than using a camera made with your hands 🙌🏾 out of nothing but household waste/recycling! ✨🪄

Ensuring the pin is pin sized is quite hard, but the smaller the pinhole in your camera is, the sharper your images will be. Fun!

This was my second time ever trying pinhole photography and there was a 12/13yr break since the first time!

Here’s another test photogram that I made right after the last one I showed you. This time I tried to create a butterfly 🦋 out of the keys 🔑 Something natural, curvy, soft with the contrast of keys/found objects that are mechanical and man made.

Which one do you prefer, this one or the last one?

Photograms are made by placing objects onto light sensitive paper, and exposing the paper to light in a darkroom. It’s like taking a picture without a camera.
