At Green Lens Studios, we are asking a different question: what if the next collaboration is not with a brand, but with a plant?

Vegetal Empathy — developed with artist Pheobe Riley Law — is a multisensory exploration of plant intelligence that invites us to reconsider perception, communication and agency beyond the human. Drawing on sound, ecology and embodied research, this project moves across installation and performance to open a dialogue with vegetal life.

In a cultural moment shaped by climate urgency and ecological thinking, this work is both poetic enquiry and critical framework. It proposes that empathy, in its broadest sense, might be a practice — and that listening across species can reshape how we understand authorship, agency and co-existence.

A fantastic series by Tom Percival-Stein

Inspired by Dutch still life painting, Flora Obscura is a contemporary photographic series that reimagines the traditional still life through inversion. Referencing the optical phenomenon of camera obscura, the series challenges idealisation and invites the viewer to consider alternative perspectives. Drawing on Vanitas symbolism from the Dutch Golden Age, Flora Obscura critiques society’s fixation on perfection, instead embracing flaws and imperfections. In a time where manipulation, bias, and even Artificial Intelligence increasingly shape visual culture, the series prompts us to reconsider the perceived ‘truth’ of photography.

Three days left!

As we celebrate fifteen years of Green Lens Studios in 2025, we wanted to mark the moment in a way that feels true to how this space has grown.

For every booking confirmed in the next few days, we’ll plant fifteen trees. One for each year of creativity, collaboration and community that has shaped this studio.

If you’ve been thinking about hosting a dinner, planning a shoot or gathering people together, now is a beautiful time to book. Your event becomes part of a small birthday forest that will keep growing long after the doors close.

We are celebrating fifteen years of Green Lens Studios, and this month we want to mark the milestone in a meaningful way. For every booking confirmed in the next few weeks, we will plant fifteen trees. One tree for every year of creativity, community and growth that you have helped us build.

Green Lens Studios is a warm and character filled studio for intimate events, creative shoots and small gatherings in North London.
