Despite my youthful appearance my journey as a wedding photographer started way back before the invention of the iPhone, YouTube and even before Facebook. In those dark days cameras were still using film and processing was done in a darkroom. In a sense photography is all about the past, freezing moments so that we can look back but it’s also about sharing our experiences. I have experienced many different things over the years: earthquakes, helicopter rescues, venomous snakes but most importantly to you I have experienced weddings. Loads of them. I know what to expect and how to handle the things you can't plan for. In general I try to avoid over-styling and let the scene and people speak for themselves. I suppose that's my style. I love catching moments as they unfold rather than spending ages constructing scenes. That way the photos look more natural and you can enjoy the day without too much faffing about. I’ve had the privilege to see my work published internationally, win some awards and be exhibited in fantastic locations but the real joy of being a photographer is in the response to my photos. Even after all these years I’m always delighted to hear how thrilled couples are with their photos.

Honoured to see The Royal Family sharing my photos :-) It was a pleasure to capture the event

The Duke of Gloucester plants the first of 6,500 Japanese cherry trees – or Sakura in Japanese – gifted to the UK by Japan, at a ceremony in The Regent’s Park, one of London’s eight Royal Parks.

The Sakura Cherry Tree Project will see the planting of the trees across the UK’s parks, gardens and schools to celebrate Japan’s relationship with the UK and will be a legacy from the Japan-UK Season of Culture 2019-2020.

All of the varieties of cherry trees to be planted as part of this project are of Japanese origin. The vast majority will be of three varieties, ‘Beni-yutaka’, ‘Taihaku’, and ‘Somei-yoshino’, which have been chosen for their variation in colour, timing, and historical significance. The Duke of Gloucester is Patron of the Japan Society which aims to improve understanding of the cultures, societies and businesses of Japan and the UK.

The Duke said, “What better way to commemorate the long standing friendship between the people of the United Kingdom and Japan, than the planting of Japanese cherry trees that will live on for future generations to enjoy. I would like to congratulate all of those involved to make possible such a worthwhile project"
