Some stills of the iconic decanter taken during the latest assignment from in collaboration with Lewis Tan for the Mortal Combat 2 movie premiere hosted at .ldn.
I took these with a mix of my Fujifilm X-H2S with my newly acquired Viltrox 27mm f1.2 along with the Canon R6 III and a 24-70mm lens. For the lighting I mostly relied on the dim but beautiful lighting of the venue, the candlelight and a pocket RGB LED light I brought with me.
The editing was quite minimal as the lighting and the beautiful decanter carried most of the shots, though I did too some retouching of the decanter in Photoshop since it has been free any fingerprints or dust as the luxury product that it is.

Louis XIII Cognac and Lewis Tan collaborated on a commission for the Mortal Kombat 2 premiere after-party, with Gilgamesh as the backdrop. The brief was detailed, specifying Louis XIII in frame at all times, Lewis Tan as the anchor, and clear guidelines.

The low-light event work was challenging, but Gilgamesh provided a beautiful backdrop. I focused on the formal service ritual and the candid atmosphere around Lewis. The primary deliverable was a 30-second 9:16 vertical cut for Instagram Reels and Stories, with PR stills for press and digital.

I used the Canon EOS R6 Mark III with the RF 24–70mm f/2.8 L IS USM for the main video. This reliable combination offers a versatile focal range, capable in low light, and sharp enough to meet the client’s scrutiny.
Product close-ups and detail shots were taken with my Fujifilm X-H2S and the Viltrox 27mm AF F1.2 Pro XF lens. At f/1.2 on APS-C, the lens produced a lovely rendering with soft falloff, good subject pop, and a slightly filmic quality that suited the evening’s aesthetic.

A pocket LED light helped me create beautiful lighting and reflections on the talent and decanter in the dim, intimate environment. I used a flash for classic party shots with complimentary lighting on people.

Post-production was done in DaVinci Resolve using Dehancer’s Kodak Vision3 250D as the base film profile. This natural film profile brought warmth, a grain structure that didn’t read as digital, and a tonal quality that earned its keep without being obvious. It was a great match for the luxury product. Music was fully licensed via Epidemic Sound.
Very thankful the continued collaboration with Louis XIII cognac and to for putting me forward.

I’m an absolute sucker for slow shutter speeds, flash and the chaos of the city! Big thanks to Esther for this creative shoot, putting up with my madness and going off by my detailed direction of just saying “that’s cool!”. Seriously though these are the types of things that get me excited—no control over anything, the wind blowing like crazy, traffic wizzing by around us. Armed with a beast of a camera like GFX100 II, a tiny .uk iT20 flash on the camera, and vague sense of a vision can bring some decent results.

Excited to share this first set of shots we got with the wonderful during the Easter bank holiday. I picked up the beast of a camera – GFX100 II paired with the GF55mm f1.7 and took advantage of the natural light at dusk. We had so much fun on this and I’ll be sharing some more sets soon!

Passing by.
Last weekend I picked up a GFX 100 II from the Fuji store as a loaner and went on Waterloo Bridge to capture the blue hour. As I was taking photos of the buses passing by I was greeted by a Routemaster and had one opportunity to capture! Got lucky.
I noticed as I was shooting that I could get the tower through a buses windows and just kept shooting until I got a few that worked. So it was semi-intentional. With photography one just needs be present, patient and things reveal themselves to you.

I really enjoy photographing sports! This set is from a while back when I paid a visit to the in Kennington. I love capturing dynamic images with a strong sense of motion and I leaned into that with these photos. I slowed down my shutter speed to get these trailing streaks around the players as they weaved their way around the court. Very thankful to the team for allowing me to photograph their practice session and to the good friend who invited who tragically is no longer with us. 🖤

Rummaging through the archives, I’ve found another set of photos I’m quite happy to share. It’s hard to take bad photos with Fujifilm’s medium format cameras, like the 100MP GFX100 I used for these, paired with the GF45mm f2.8 lens. This lens on a medium format camera is a bit wide for portraits when you get up close, but it also has a lovely quality to it, with a beautiful fall-off and colour rendering.

I’m excited to have a GFX rented over the Easter holidays, as I had one over the same period of time a few years ago when I took these photos.

Radio City
As I’m preparing to launch my new website, moving away from Squarespace to a custom build I’ve been going through my archives and stumbled on this shot from my trip to New York a few years back. It seems like I never shared and thought that’s a shame as I’m quite digging the vibe here so here it is!

Signal in the Fog
I captured this during a foggy night near London Bridge, the Shard rising through the mist while a railway signal glows red in the foreground. The low fog hides much of the surrounding city, leaving the illuminated tower appearing to float above the streets of London.
These should be in HDR, how does it look?
