CVP and Blackmagic Design invite you to an exclusive event on Thursday 22nd October, with cinematographer Dale Campbell, as he takes you behind the scenes of his latest PYXIS 12K project: a cinematic journey from the streets of Marrakech to the dunes of the Sahara.

The session will cover:

- Unlocking the 3:2 sensor for anamorphic filming
- Choosing the right resolution for every shot
- Building the camera around the shoot
- Turning 12k resolution into a creative tool
- Adapting to fast-moving, available light production
- Taking PYXIS into demanding environments

There will also be an opportunity to get hands-on with PYXIS 12K.

Yesterday we hosted Will Perez alongside Canon, talking about storytelling, attention, and why the Canon C50 has earned its place in his kit.

Will made the call that changed everything, telling his mum he was leaving uni to become Steven Bartlett's filmmaker and editor. Since then, 50 episodes of Behind the Diary, 13M views, 54 flights in 54 weeks and a Forbes 30 Under 30.

He walked us through the psychology behind content that holds attention and why so much just gets scrolled past, and how he finds the strongest narrative in around 40 hours of footage a week.

His big takeaway “people connect with stories, not spec sheets”. The right kit isn't about "what should I buy", it's about what lets you react quickly, work instinctively, and spend more time creating than second-guessing your setup.
