Do you use a light meter for your work? If not, you should check the LIT Duo 1 out!

After several months of testing it across a range of shoots, it’s got a regular place in our kit bag.

This compact, solidly built meter combines incident light metering with colour temperature and spectrum readings, making it easy to measure exposure, contrast ratios, white balance, and evaluate light sources.

What really sets it apart is its ability to measure light flicker. Simply dial in your exposure and the Duo will tell you which shutter speed to use to eliminate flicker. This is especially useful when shooting in unpredictable lighting environments like offices.

It’s currently available for an intro price of £567 / €662 and is available to order now via the link in our bio.

Two big announcements in the world of 65mm cinematography have just dropped!

First off Sony have announced the development of the RIALTO 65, their new 65mm format sensor block that will work with the existing VENICE 2 platform.

It houses a huge 9.6K sensor with an approximate size of 53.75 by 35.83mm giving it a diagonal size of 64.8mm. That is huge at over 2x the size of full-frame and much larger than the ones found in other 65mm format cinema cameras on the market.

It’s going to feature a range of different recording modes though to ensure flexibility with different lens formats and sensor sizes. This new sensor alongside a planned V5.0 firmware, will breathe new life into the already incredibly versatile VENICE 2 ecosystem.

This is just a development announcement with Sony stating that the new sensor should start shipping in the first half of 2027. If you want to learn more about the VENICE 2 in the meantime you can book a demo today via [email protected]

Next Angenieux have announced their EZ65 series.

This builds on their existing EZ lenses but offers them with expanded 60mm image circles to cover the growing range of 65mm format cameras.

At launch two lenses will be available, the EZ-2 65 (27-72mm T3.6) and EZ-3 65 (82-300mm T4.2-5.5), both of which share image characteristics with the existing EZ lenses, feature dual scales and will only be available in LPL mount.

These are available to pre-order now: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0vTJ6z0
