Since 2008, Ilan Godfrey has been documenting life on a farm in northern South Africa, where seasonal harvesters gather ‘Khakibos’ — a wild plant turned high-yield crop. 🌿

Founded by Steph Hartung, BioAfrica transforms Khakibos into essential oils used in cosmetics, creating over 350 jobs for women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. 💼✨

This series explores how nature, community, and resilience come together in a country deeply impacted by unemployment.

Longtime supporter of Surfers Against Sewage, Duncan captured their Protecting Wild Waters campaign, an initiative fighting to improve water quality by getting key swimming and surf spots officially designated as ‘bathing waters.’

Over the years, we have become more involved in addressing climate change and inequality.
We believe the link between female empowerment and the climate change fight has not garnered much attention from MSM. Experts are slowly beginning to identify this as the solution. Both education and empowering women can be part of the solution to address the climate challenge, especially in developing countries.

Never underestimate the significance of the little things done out of a large heart of love.

After realizing that poor women were using the flour sacks to make clothing for their children some flour mills started using flowered fabric for their sacks, 1939.
