Rapid Eye was founded by Lee Williams in 1996 as an affordable colour print darkroom, where photographers could experiment with ideas and techniques.

Rapid Eye offers a full range of services to photographers,colour darkroom hire, film processing, hand c-type printing, contact prints, digital c-type printing, retouching, flat bed scanning, Imacon scanning, colour printing workshops.

If you are about on Friday 12th December we would love to see you at our Christmas party .
At the party we will be holding 2 main events: our Secret Santa Group exhibition and print raffle (also featuring some other exciting prizes), and also Dosh for Nosh hotdogs raising money for FOTOHANEDARKROOM , free analogue projects for children and youth on the turkish syrian border. If you are interested there is more information on their page!

Secret Santa Group Exhibition and Raffle at Photobookcafe!

The return of our Secret Santa Group show and print raffle! How to join in:

You are invited to submit a photographic print of your choice suitable as a Christmas gift. Prints can be 12x16 or smaller, Black and White or Colour. Digital or Analogue. Attach to the back of the print your name and a christmas message!
Submissions are open now and will close at 6pm on Thursday 11th December. Only 1 entry per person please. Submissions will be stopped at 100 entries due to hanging space in the gallery. Please drop your submission in at the Front Desk at Rapid Eye: 79 Leonard Street London EC2A 4QS.

On the day of the party, the prints will be hung in the gallery at Photobook Cafe, with a raffle ticket next to each print. All participants will then take place in a blind raffle at 9pm. The raffle ticket that gets picked for you will determine the Secret Santa Print you recieve! You can take your Secret Santa gift on the night, once the event is over. Small tubes will be provided to pack your print.
The event is FREE and will be hosted by George From London.

Dosh For Nosh Hotdogs:
Lee & Jamies Sausage Fest. (plenty of Sauce!) - Hotdogs for FOTOHANE DARKROOM! from 6pm onwards , £10 each
We’ll be serving gourmet German Bratwurst with a choice of German Sauerkraut ketchup, mustard and fried onions in a brioche baguette. Halal and Vegan options too!
100% of proceeds go to FOTOHANE DARKROOM!

Back when i was printing (about 5 yrs now) i worked with alot of great, medium and some not so great photographers! Haha… some people just have it☺️. I really preferred helping people print their own work than printing for them. I actually found printing for people quite stressfull and i wasnt necessarily comnercially viable. I would just try too hard and take too long on jobs generally.. One photographer i did click with and enjoyed very much was , his work was exciting and fresh. He was lovely to work with. We worked together on wuite alot of projects over sbout 8 yrs or so. This print reminds me of that time and makes me smile never mind how stressfull i found printing😁❤️ cheers . I will be showing this print at the Rapid Eye End of Summer Party and Exhibition 2nd Octb2025. 6 to 10!All welcome. Cheers Lee Williams
