As-salamu Alikum brothers & sisters,
Thank you all for coming to BB Media Artists Iftar Gathering at 21/04/2022. It was so nice to see you all here after a long time
If you guys don’t mind, I would like to take couple minutes of your time to talk about something many of you have been asking me over the past few years, which is, why is there no organisation for the welfare of the British Bangladeshi Media Artists in London today. At least we had one before, referring to BBMA, which wasn’t great, but it was something and over time we could have improved on it for the future generation and I completely agree with that.
So, for those brother & sister and for you who came to the Iftar Gathering today, I would like to propose a formation of a new organisation called BB Media Artists.
Insha’Allah, with your help & support we will be able to create it. We’ve done it before.
BB Media Artists will try to promote and support its members by holding regular events throughout the year.
- Iftar Celebration & Eid Party
- Cultural & Musical Events
- Professional Networking
- Photography & Videography Exhibitions
- Training
How are we going to fund these regular events?
The financial resources of the BB Media Artists may consist of:
annual membership fees
donations and gifts
subsidies
sponsor money
The membership is only available for British Bangladeshi Media Artists, who may be individual adults in the following profession: Professional or Amateur Photographer, Videographer, Video Editor, TV/Film/YouTube and any other Social Media Content Creator.
Proposed Membership Fee will be:
£15 per year for ordinary member
£100 per year for Committee Board Members
What is the next step?
I Ahidur Rahman will be honorary Secretary and Anhar Mohib Ali honorary Chairman to form this Organization and call a General Meeting at the end of May 2022 to install Committee board members.
We will also need volunteers to get brothers and sister to join this Organisation as ordinary members who will have the right to vote when the General Meeting in called to install Committee board members.
Only members have the right to attend and vote at a General Meeting. Every member has one vote. No member may however vote for more than one other member
The Board will be elected by members at the General Meeting on a proposal from the Board or a proposal signed by at least fifteen members
The Board will consist of a minimum of ten persons; the exact number of members of the Board will be decided by the General Meeting
The Board appoints a Secretary and a Treasurer from among the members of the Board. The Chairman will be chosen for this
Every member of the Board will be elected for a term of 5 years from the first General Meeting.
The General Meeting can suspend or dismiss a member of the Board with 70% majority vote.
I will very much appreciate if you support my proposal and help me create a much needed organisation for the welfare of British Bangladeshi Media Artists in London now and for the future.

Please fill in the form and send it back to [email protected]. You do not need to pay the membership fee now, but will need to pay on later date when you call a General Meeting. Which should be at the end of May 2022.
