🐦🧡 Atlantic Puffins – Farne Islands
There’s something special about seeing Atlantic Puffins in their natural habitat. The Farne Islands are one of the best places in the UK to watch these charismatic seabirds as they return each spring to breed.
With their colourful bills, comical waddles, and incredible flying skills, puffins are a favourite among wildlife photographers and bird lovers alike. Spending time observing them as they carry sand eels back to their burrows is an unforgettable experience.
The Farne Islands offer a rare opportunity to get close to these amazing birds while witnessing one of the UK's most spectacular seabird colonies.

Lucky morning today 🍀📸
I finally managed to photograph a kingfisher. Such a small bird, but the colours are unreal when you see it up close. One of those moments that makes getting up early completely worth it.

Spent some time at Morton Lochs last Saturday and the red squirrels were out and about, busy as ever. They move so fast you barely get a second to catch the shot, but that’s what makes it fun — every photo feels like a small reward. Beautiful woodland light, quiet paths, and one very photogenic squirrel made the morning perfect.

It was one of those drizzly Scottish mornings when even the rain seemed too tired to fall properly. I was siting there, wondering why I didn’t stay in bed… when this tiny red squirrel shot out of the branches like it was late for a meeting.

Rain? What rain? This squirrel had things to do and zero time to discuss the weather. And somehow, in the middle of his chaotic morning routine, he still gave me a look like ‘You’re following me? Take the picture then, I’m busy!’

I swear, that wee fluffy hustler works harder than half my camera gear.

Some say red squirrels carry the voices of the forest — tiny guardians with secrets in their tails. 🐿️🍂

In Scottish folklore, an fheòrag was believed to move between worlds — a creature of both earth and spirit, quick enough to travel with whispers of the wind. When you see one pause on a branch, tail flicking, it’s easy to believe those old stories.

This morning, the woods were still, just the sound of leaves and one curious squirrel watching me as if I’d wandered into its story instead of mine. Moments like that remind me why I keep going back into the wild — it’s where legends still breathe. 🌲✨

Saturday morning in the quiet of the woods, I had a little moment with one of Scotland’s most magical creatures — the red squirrel. 🐿️🌲

In old Scottish folklore, an fheòrag (the red squirrel) was seen as a messenger of the forest — quick, curious, and full of secrets. Some tales say they warned of the Cailleach’s coming, the winter goddess who brought the cold winds. Others believed they guarded sacred groves and carried whispers between the trees and woodland spirits.

Watching one leap through the branches today felt like stepping into one of those old stories — a reminder that the wild still speaks, if you take the time to listen. 🍂✨

Morning light, mist drifting through the pines, and the soft rustle of tiny paws — the red squirrel of Scottish folklore comes to life.

Known in Gaelic as an fheòrag, these woodland messengers were said to carry whispers between the trees and the spirits of the forest.

Watching one up close feels like stepping into an old Highland tale — quick, curious, and full of wild grace.

This little red squirrel appeared out of nowhere — quietly hopping along the log, stopping just long enough to grab a peanut.
Moments like this remind me why I love spending mornings in the woods. You never know who’s going to show up — but when they do, it feels like time slows down for a bit.

Simple, calm, and wild — just the way nature should be.

🦭 Morning Seals at Horsey Gap
Last week an early start paid off — peaceful morning light, waves breaking softly, and a whole group of seals watching the sunrise. Moments like this remind me why I love wildlife photography — quiet, wild, and real.
