The elusive nature of memory and our relationship with the natural sublime are questioned in my work, through a process of layering and fragmentation. An archive of landscape photographs forms the initial stage of the paintings, a recording of personal memories that become distorted and blurred by washes of thin oil glaze. These layers ar

e formed and fragmented by naturally occurring reactions, provoking sublime connotations that reflect the fracturing of memory itself.
