Spring blossom, bluebells and black tie styling… this is what a Bartle Hall wedding in April really looks like 🌸

As a Liverpool wedding photographer, weddings like this are exactly why I love what I do. Calm mornings, emotional moments, and a relaxed atmosphere where everything just flows naturally without needing to be staged or forced.

The day began with Lisa getting ready with her bridesmaids, leading into a really emotional dress reveal full of tears and huge smiles. Before the ceremony, we had some fun, relaxed photos with the groomsmen, and then everything moved into a beautifully calm ceremony with the occasional happy tear (and a lot of smiling).

Afterwards, guests spilled out into the sunshine for drinks, surrounded by blossom trees and bluebells in full bloom. The black tie styling looked incredible against all the soft spring colours in the gardens at Bartle Hall, especially during couple portraits outside.

There were laughs throughout the speeches, guests enjoying the sunshine, and a magician keeping everyone entertained during the drinks reception.

Bartle Hall in April with sunshine is hard to beat ā˜€ļø

If you’re planning your wedding at Bartle Hall or looking for a Liverpool wedding photographer for relaxed, natural wedding photography, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a DM with your date and venue!

A navy wedding dress, a missing bus, and a ferry boat reception… this Liverpool wedding at St George’s Hall and The Daffodil was full of genuinely happy, relaxed moments 🚢✨

Graham & Cheryl travelled over from Spain to celebrate in Liverpool, keeping things completely their own style from start to finish.

After confetti outside St George’s Hall, we wandered through the columns, down the steps, and waited (and waited…) for a bus that had clearly decided to explore the city without us. But honestly? That little pause gave us time for some of my favourite relaxed portraits of the day.

Cheryl completely ditched the traditional wedding dress and went for navy and white instead… which looked amazing against the stone of St George’s Hall. Proof you don’t have to follow the ā€œrulesā€ to look incredible.

We eventually made it down to The Daffodil at Canning Dock, where the celebrations carried on with good food, good people, and the kind of atmosphere that only happens when everyone’s just genuinely happy to be there.

A slightly unconventional day, a few unexpected moments, and loads of real, unposed joy… exactly how I like it.

If you’re planning a Liverpool wedding and want natural, relaxed photos (without being told to ā€œstand here and smileā€ every five minutes), I’m your person.

Ever wondered what a sunny winter wedding in the middle of Liverpool looks like?

Kathryn and Chris got married at Hope Street Hotel on a crisp, cold, blue-sky day back in December. From confetti falling with the iconic cathedral in the background to quiet moments under Kathryn's veil, we wandered the city streets, stepped out onto the hotel balcony, capturing little bursts of personality alongside the bigger gestures.

The city skyline made a perfect backdrop, and the cobbled streets and brickwork gave their portraits that slightly raw, natural vibe. Hand in hand, walking along Hope Street, the light and atmosphere made for some really lovely shots.

If you’re getting married in Liverpool and want your day captured in a natural, relaxed way, drop me a message - I’d love to hear about your plans.

Can Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle do indie wedding vibes?

Last week I met up with Matt from Indie Idols in the Baltic to shoot some new promo photos for the band. We spent the afternoon wandering around looking for backdrops that suited that slightly moody indie feel… graffitied walls, old iron gates - basically anything in the Baltic with a bit of character.

It was a fun change from my usual wedding days and also part of something new we’ve been working on together. I’m really excited to finally launch a brand new collaboration with the band.

When you book Indie Idols to play at your wedding, you'll now have the option to book me too. I’ll be there to capture the evening while the band are doing their thing - the music, the dance floor filling up, people singing along and everything that happens once the party properly gets going.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge indie music fan, so this is a collaboration I’m genuinely excited about. It’s a brilliant way for couples to have the atmosphere and energy of their evening documented while the band gets everyone dancing.

If you’re booking the band and like the idea of the live music and dance floor being captured too, drop me a message or mention it when you enquire with the band.

And yes… a quick selfie at the end of the shoot. Me, camera in hand, doing the thing I usually avoid (getting my photo taken!)

The loudest room of the day is never the dance floor! This was Zoe & Shaun’s entrance into the wedding breakfast at Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool and the place absolutely erupted.

As a Liverpool wedding photographer, these are the moments I’m always watching for. That split second when the nerves drop, everyone’s on their feet, and you walk into a room full of people who are genuinely buzzing for you.

Hope Street Hotel is perfect for this part of the day. Low light, beautifully set tables, everyone already fuelled by fizz and ready for the speeches. No posing. No prompting. Just real reactions and proper joy.

If you’re planning a Liverpool city wedding and want natural, unposed photography that captures how it felt, not just how it looked, there’s more from this day on my website.

Spring weddings aren’t just about flowers — they’re about the light, the little smiles, and the effortless moments in between…

Spring weddings at the Palm House in Sefton Park are full of soft light, fresh colours, and effortless natural moments. Captured in my relaxed, documentary wedding photography style, these candid, unposed moments show the real joy, warmth, and life of the day.

Mariam & Patrick’s wedding was the perfect example of how beautiful spring can be. Every corner of the Palm House was alive with greenery and natural light, giving their photographs a clean, fresh look without anything staged. It was simply them moving through their day, surrounded by colour, calm, and genuine emotion.

One of my favourite things about spring weddings is how effortless everything feels—the soft sunshine, clearer skies, and warm glow add their own magic to every moment. From quiet ceremony glances to shared smiles throughout the day, spring brings a natural rhythm that fits perfectly with relaxed, documentary wedding photography.

If you’re planning a spring or summer wedding and want natural, candid wedding photography that captures real, effortless moments in beautiful light, save this post for inspiration or get in touch through my website—I’d love to hear about your plans.

The best wedding photos aren’t posed — they’re the spontaneous, laughter-filled moments that make the day unforgettable…
For couples planning a wedding at the Century Pavilion in Liverpool, here’s a joyful, candid moment from Lara and Karl’s day. Captured in my relaxed, natural, unposed wedding photography style, these in-between moments show the energy, smiles, and laughter that make a wedding truly memorable.

There’s nothing quite like that instant when Lara and Karl were announced into the Century Pavilion—napkins in the air, laughter all around (thanks to Dave, the Master of Ceremonies!).

I love photographing these spontaneous, joyful moments. They’re not posed hero portraits, but they’re exactly what make a wedding feel alive. The Century Pavilion provides a gorgeous backdrop, and capturing the couple’s smiles as friends and family celebrated was just brilliant.

If you’re planning your wedding at the Century Pavilion or anywhere in Liverpool or Cheshire and want a photographer who focuses on natural, happy moments, I’d love to chat and hear about your day!
