There aren't many Liverpool wedding venues more iconic than St George's Hall... and Paul & Laura made the most of every bit of it. 🤍

As a Liverpool wedding photographer, St George's Hall is always one of my favourite places for relaxed portraits, and this wedding finished with a brilliant reception at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms.

From a confetti exit (with plenty of confetti... just how I like it 😄) to a wander around St George's Hall and St John's Gardens, these two spent the afternoon laughing their way around Liverpool before heading to the Philharmonic Dining Rooms to celebrate.

One of my favourite photos from the day is actually the confetti one. I always tell my couples that if you're going to do confetti, don't be shy with it. The more the merrier! It makes such a difference in the photos, and Paul and Laura absolutely proved my point.

The reception was at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms, where they cut into their gorgeous cake by L'oven Cake (complete with little bride and groom toppers that Laura made herself ❤️). They were also treated to live music from The Tunesteppers, with Laura's cousin on the drums, which was such a lovely personal touch.

This is exactly why I love photographing weddings in Liverpool. Whether it's St George's Hall, the Philharmonic Dining Rooms or somewhere completely different, every wedding has its own story. And when you've got a couple who spend the whole day laughing together and just enjoy every minute, the photos always tell the story.

This is why I never panic when someone tells me they hate having their photo taken...

It's something I hear all the time, and honestly, it never worries me.

Last Saturday's wedding at Inglewood Manor was a perfect example. We managed to sneak outside for some portraits, throw confetti everywhere, and get one of my favourite shots through the gates (plus one with the manor in the background!) literally minutes before the heavens opened and everyone made a very quick dash back inside. ☔

I'd already been told that being in front of the camera wasn't exactly top of the list of favourite things to do... but you'd never know it from these photos.

You don't have to know how to pose, love being in front of a camera or spend hours taking photos to end up with images you genuinely love. My job is to help you relax, keep things natural, and make the whole experience feel a lot less awkward than you're probably imagining.

One minute it was sunshine. The next? Proper Liverpool-style rain. ☀️🌧️ Swipe through to see how Phil & Jereen's wedding proves that the weather doesn't make the day. ❤️

If there's one thing this wedding reminded me, it's that the best photos aren't about perfect weather. They're about real moments.

Between the showers at The Barn at Yew Tree Farm, we wandered around the grounds, where Phil had Jereen laughing from the moment he whispered in her ear. We made the most of the views, captured a quiet moment beneath Jereen's veil, and when the rain arrived, the cosy converted barn with its twinkling fairy lights became the perfect place to escape for a few minutes.

One of my favourite moments was Phil giving his speech from the balcony. It gave everyone a great view and created some brilliant photographs with the glowing LOVE letters behind him.

The Barn at Yew Tree Farm is genuinely one of my favourite wedding venues. It has such a relaxed atmosphere, fantastic staff and beautiful surroundings, whatever the weather decides to do.

What does a beautiful June wedding at Lancashire Manor Hotel filled with sunshine, laughter and the people who matter most look like? 🤍

The day began with a relaxed morning of getting ready, with Shona sharing special moments with her family shortly before an emotional first look that brought a few tears. During the ceremony, reserved seats honoured loved ones who couldn't be there, a simple but meaningful reminder that they were still part of the day. As Shona walked down the aisle, Dylan's emotional reaction said it all.

After saying "I do", everyone gathered outside to celebrate with loads of confetti before joining together for family photos, plenty of hugs and lots of laughter. We then explored the grounds of Lancashire Manor, making the most of the ivy-covered building, tree-lined paths and the padlock fence for some relaxed portraits before heading back inside to celebrate with cake, a first dance full of smiles and a packed dance floor.

One of my favourite little moments came later in the evening, when I spotted the balcony overlooking the dance floor. It was the perfect place to quietly capture everyone throwing some impressive (and occasionally questionable!) shapes, completely unaware of the camera. Those unfiltered moments are always some of my favourites. 📸

Spring blossom, bluebells and black tie styling… this is what a Bartle Hall wedding in April really looks like 🌸

As a Liverpool wedding photographer, weddings like this are exactly why I love what I do. Calm mornings, emotional moments, and a relaxed atmosphere where everything just flows naturally without needing to be staged or forced.

The day began with Lisa getting ready with her bridesmaids, leading into a really emotional dress reveal full of tears and huge smiles. Before the ceremony, we had some fun, relaxed photos with the groomsmen, and then everything moved into a beautifully calm ceremony with the occasional happy tear (and a lot of smiling).

Afterwards, guests spilled out into the sunshine for drinks, surrounded by blossom trees and bluebells in full bloom. The black tie styling looked incredible against all the soft spring colours in the gardens at Bartle Hall, especially during couple portraits outside.

There were laughs throughout the speeches, guests enjoying the sunshine, and a magician keeping everyone entertained during the drinks reception.

A navy wedding dress, a missing bus, and a ferry boat reception… this Liverpool wedding at St George’s Hall and The Daffodil was full of genuinely happy, relaxed moments 🚢✨

Graham & Cheryl travelled over from Spain to celebrate in Liverpool, keeping things completely their own style from start to finish.

After confetti outside St George’s Hall, we wandered through the columns, down the steps, and waited (and waited…) for a bus that had clearly decided to explore the city without us. But honestly? That little pause gave us time for some of my favourite relaxed portraits of the day.

Cheryl completely ditched the traditional wedding dress and went for navy and white instead… which looked amazing against the stone of St George’s Hall. Proof you don’t have to follow the “rules” to look incredible.

We eventually made it down to The Daffodil at Canning Dock, where the celebrations carried on with good food, good people, and the kind of atmosphere that only happens when everyone’s just genuinely happy to be there.

A slightly unconventional day, a few unexpected moments, and loads of real, unposed joy… exactly how I like it.
