Artefacts By Katie Kate my name is kate maher. I completed a BA Studio Ceramic degree at Falmouth College of Art, Cornwall. I love being creative,teaching and sharing creativity.

Photography also developed.and the influence of the colours, light, and landscape and energy are evident in my work what ever way I express this. Shell like forms, leaves and petals collected along the way, colours of sky and ocean, the foliage and form and the presence of nature in the sparkle of a dew drop, a moving leaf in the breeze, or sun lit colours and textures, and bird song, that lifts t

he heart. My figurative forms have also developed, with a presence each to their own, that I have also expressed through silk and watercolour paintings.my work is continually developing.Inspired by natural element, I love being out doors with nature plants, trees and sunshine. My body of work evolved into, Using arts and crafts as part of an activity programme in workshops to help engage the mind, stimulate the brain, and provide very necessary interaction and communication with others. Many crafts, such as painting and playing music, help maintain eye and hand coordination and encourage stimulation of electrical impulses in the brain that offer pleasure to those engaging in pleasant and enjoyable activities. My aims and objectives at Artefacts is to provide arts based activities, using multiple art forms and mediums, to provide creative expression, promote mental stimulation, give residents a sense of enjoyment, and build confidence and self esteem.
