Part three~

There is something rather touching about watching the way that someone moves around, interacts and even becomes a part of their own garden.

The quiet moments of reflection they take within these spaces, the endless tours they make around them to observe the daily changes, followed by moments of joy when they see everything they have nurtured growing and thriving - itโ€™s a joy to watch.

It feels like a real honour to bear witness to the gentle sense of self appreciation they feel when they stand within the garden they have grown, and acknowledge and appreciate its beauty - to say to themselves โ€˜hey, I did this!โ€™

Every garden tells a story.

For many decades, this garden has been lovingly nurtured by the same pairs of hands. Originally designed by her late husband, it became a shared passion and a labour of love throughout their life together.

Today, this incredible woman continues to care for it, tending not only the plants but the memories rooted among them.

For me, the beauty of a garden lies not just in what grows there, but in all the stories that it holds ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Iโ€™ve recently been working on a really lovely commission here in Somerset photographing this incredible and intriguing five acre garden which embraces a beautiful 17th century house. More than 300 rare and unusual trees have been lovingly planted here and there is a natural pond, 90ft water lily pond, vegetable garden and fruit orchards too. Iโ€™ve spent four days here in total photographing different aspects of this space (the possibilities are endless!) but to really appreciate its scale and planting scheme you need to see it from above.

More to comeโ€ฆ.

I absolutely love watching bees move through different planting with such purpose - gathering pollen and nectar they are helping the whole ecosystem thrive ๐Ÿ

As a keen gardener myself Itโ€™s great to consider that everything that I choose to plant in my outdoor space has a role to play - not just for colour and structure, but for the wildlife that depends on it.

Good garden design isnโ€™t only about what we see. Itโ€™s about creating places where nature can flourish too.

Lately, Iโ€™ve been working on a project that explores not only animals and gardens as separate subjects, but the special connection people and their pets have with both. ๐Ÿ’š

Alina .and.primrose.horticulture has designed and maintained this absolutely beautiful garden, creating a space that feels full of life and character. She also adopted her gorgeous dog, Reishi, from . ๐Ÿ’™

One of the things I love most is that Alina can bring Reishi to work with her. Photographing them together in a garden they both enjoy feels like a perfect reflection of the bond between people, animals, and the spaces they share.

A huge thank you to for welcoming me back to one of my favourite places to photograph. ๐ŸŒฑ
