Is there a collective noun for a group of bitterns?! Yesterday we witnessed and experienced first hand, something extraordinary! Myself and my youngest spent the afternoon at RSPB Lakenheath Fen ,riding out one thunderstorm in the safety of a hide we decided to make a break for freedom to get back to the car. Mother nature was having none of that, 20 minutes into our walk back we suddenly had another storm on our tails, thunder rumbling, we caught sight of at least 8 bitterns taking to the skies, usually solitary birds it seemed they could sense what was coming and were heading for shelter! We on the other hand were not so lucky and got absolutely drenched to the bone! 💙⚡

What shall I nickname these two fox twins?! How cute are they??!! Persistence has finally paid off and I got a quick shot of them playing together whilst waiting for a parent to return! At this point I should probably change this to a fox page 😂🧡

This is the dog fox from the family I have been watching, not sure whether it is the father of the cubs or maybe a sibling from another year? There are two vixens and this one, they are all out together and interact so definitely a family group of somekind. I love how he has this ring of fur around his face, reminds me of a sunflower! 🧡

Ever seen a fox cub get the zoomies?! 😂 Cue a minute of madness when my camera didn’t know where to focus and I was panicking I wasn’t going to capture anything! I’d hidden chicken wings under an egg box to stop the pesky seagulls getting there first! 🧡

I couldn’t wait to show you all the magical moment I witnessed last night, they made me wait for it, not venturing out until the cooler air after sunset. I had sat waiting for two hours and had almost given up when suddenly I felt as if I was surrounded by foxes! Two vixens, a dog fox and two gorgeous cubs! I daren’t hardly breathe and then I got to watch this cub feeding, I was giddy all the way home! I can only thank the superb performance of my kit that I managed to capture this as it was almost 10pm! Nikon

This teeny vole was right out in the open, not sure if it was a baby or not? Hopefully I encouraged it to take shelter somewhere safe! Pet Parents Chronicles
