✨Meet Rayven and Vale✨

I did a student event at work this week where we were giving out self-care bits to encourage students to come and speak to me about mental wellbeing and available support.

But I had to snaffle these two (don’t worry; all Ducks were purchased by me in the first place, I’m not actually stealing from children 😂) as they were so cute and dark and gothy.

So Rayven or Vale (named for my 2 favourite current book boyfriends; Blake has already left us this week) will be in the next ‘Real Treat’ or ‘Something Special’ book box ordered with a gothic, dark/Romantasy, thriller theme. A perfect reading companion for the bath…..or paddling pool as is more the case this week 🥵

2.Choose your genre. If we don’t have it don’t worry; I’ll find it for you 😊

3.Check our alternatives (shower steamers, coffee/hot chocolate, sweets)

4. Send your order to me via DM on Facebook or Instagram. Alternatively order via email at [email protected].

5. I’ll send you a link to pay via PayPal or details for a direct bank transfer. As soon as it’s paid your box will be packed!

*p&p is an additional £4.50 on all boxes

A Book Girl’s Best Friend?? 📚

My obsession for pretty books was getting a bit big for the house so the other half bought me a kindle.

Cons:
🚫The porch light reflects off it
🚫I find the constant need to swipe annoying
🚫It has not got pretty sprayed page edges

Pros:
✔️He also bought me a case which is super pretty
✔️You get some right bargains! I got Blood Bound the other day for 99p!!!
✔️He now has no idea when I buy more books despite having more than I can possibly read already on the shelf 😂

So I present to you the recent buys I have been most excited about!!!

I only ever promote or include items in my gift boxes I use and love myself. And I LOVE these candles from Made with Madness (I can’t tag them god knows why but they are on Facebook!). They smell immense too not that I can currently bring myself to burn them because they are TOO PRETTY. It won’t stop me buying more though 😂🤦‍♀️

The slate coasters I am using to protect my books from the wax are also made by them. They are the bomb too!

My book shelf is now nearly complete, just waiting for my birthday in a couple of weeks to fill the gaps that have been prepped. You a Gothic/Horror/Fantasy book geek like me?? You NEED some of these candles for your shelf…..and a coaster for your brew 😜

NB: the duck was not made by Made with Madness, the duck was made by, if I may say, a ‘gifted’ child at work who kindly said I could have her for my shelf. I have, naturally; named her Nesta

Right, it’s been manic having a real job and life, I mean I’d happily pack book boxes all day everyday but keeping prices as low as possible for you guys means this week I’ve been busy earning money for stationary buys 😂

But never fear, it’s is 9.20pm and I have packaged and labelled but all boxes waiting to go out and they’ll be with our local friendly postmaster first thing tomorrow.

In honour of our anniversary my first model spotlight has to be my deranged but loveable other half.

🌟 Wheeling and dealing my book boxes with the lads at work assuring them it will score them brownie points with their ladies
🌟 Consistently turning a blind eye to the MANY packages I receive and asking no questions about where I am stashing all this s**t
🌟 Actively encouraging my book obsession with buying me special editions (sprayed edges Kirsty, sprayed edges) and putting me together a little reading haven in our garden
🌟 Always ready to stand for a photo for me, not sensibly mind but you can’t have everything.

Life Lately 🫶

Because what would a lifestyle photos and gifts service be without occasional life updates.

We are on a sprint to summer at the minute; just maxed out busy. A beautiful family wedding on Saturday followed by Arran competing in his first sponsored fun run Sunday. My washing machine still hasn’t forgiven me but you know; he loved it.

My first born son sat his last GCSE exam on Monday and has officially finished compulsory education. He’s now got a 2 and a half month summer break…..git!!!! (Not that we are jealous)

We had 4 orders on top of the giveaway for our first gift box product (the book box) which was so exciting. 2 went out on Friday. Another 2 will be going out tomorrow!!

And I currently have 3 commissioned scrapbooks on the go!! Thankfully people are patient with me and don’t give me deadlines (or if they do they order super early 😂)

So no rest for the wicked and I fear Rachel Gillig’s Shepard King Duology is taking me ALOT longer to read than I’d like! But weather looks good for Sunday and I might just have to retreat to my new reading corner with a pot of tea for a whole day 🤔.
