A lovely seven mile walk that has a bit of everything. Starting at the Wincle Brewery at (would you believe), Wincle, you're eased in with a gentle amble that is a nice warm up, i.e. quite steady and flat alongside the River Dane. Crossing over the River Dane the walk then starts a seemingly never ending ascent. We stopped halfway for some sustenance before carrying on the ascent. On the way to the summit you can look back over the cheshire plain at the majestic 'Cloud'. A much needed descent through some lovely bracken hills and past some dilapidated buildings from the 17th century (mostly still standing), before another ascent and finally down to the Ship Inn for a much needed beverage.
A cracking walk which is very well signposted for public footpaths. All stiles / gates were easily accessible for dogs. Temperature on the day was 17° which was perfect. Any hotter would have been quite taxing with the hills and I would recommend lots of hydration.
We were out for four hours, and stopped for thirty minutes to eat and then a further twenty minutes for the finishing pint.

Here is encounter 2.
We saw this beautiful creature swim across in from of us and we couldn't grasp what it was. He then jumped out on the other side whilst I struggled to get my camera out. He was back in the water as I managed to film him swim away..
I have never seen one of these before in the wild.
