Not very often this sort of thing happens, ey?

These are the best snaps I could get of the earlier Solar Eclipse, the first time I've seen one with my own eyes, and I can see why very strong ND filters are used in these cases.

The time had come once again for the Worth Valley to be filled not by the puffing of steam engines, but the roar of diesel engines as the KWVR Diesel Gala for 2026 rolled around.

It’s fairly simple to explain this event. Just like the Steam Gala, the Diesel Gala is a 4 day event with visiting and home fleet engines alike, just with diesels instead. It certainly makes for a different, but still awesome vibe.

I'm really not a consistent poster, am I? 😅

Anyways, I'm back again with 2 shoots for you to hopefully enjoy.

The first is the 1940's Weekend at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. As the name suggests, it's a weekend event at the heritage railway about 'cosplaying' the 1940's, which results in themed displays and many dressed-up individuals all along the line. This year, there was even two flypasts from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight scheduled, with the Dakota and one of the Hurricanes briefly filling the valley with their iconic roar, though sadly the weather caused the Dakota to be grounded on the Saturday, meaning I missed it 😭.

Despite the aforementioned poor weather, it was still a very fun time and it's something I'd recommend seeing.

For the second shoot, I'm once again bringing you the Great Knaresborough Bed Race for 2026. As a quick overview, the bed race is an event in Knaresborough consisting of a parade of decorated 'beds' down the high street according to a set theme, followed by a time trial race around the town, which is about a 2.4 mile long course.

It's called the bed race because in 1966, the new Knaresborough Round Table got together and wanted to make a charity event, coming up with the idea of a time trial where teams pushed beds around the town. And by beds, hospital beds were originally used by those teams, but of course are now replaced by purpose-built carts.

In honour of the 60th anniversary, and presumably because of the decade it started, the theme this year was 'The Swinging 60's', which I'm sure brings a lot of ideas to mind as to the different bed decorations.

So it's been a little bit, hasn't it? 😅Anyhow, I'm back again, with two shoots to show off this time. Amazing, isn't it?...

So it's been a little bit, hasn't it? 😅

Anyhow, I'm back again, with two shoots to show off this time. Amazing, isn't it?

We're going back some months with the first one, that being my trip around Judy Woods, which is situated between Bradford and Halifax.

I basically did this one on a whim, just deciding to take the camera out on a dog walk, which quite luckily, was punctuated by near perfect weather and a golden glow from the evening sun. This shoot was back in October 2025, and I've only just gotten round to posting it now because, well, life got in the way, work mainly.
I would say though, that despite being on a whim, I was able to take home some of my favourite nature shots to-date.

Now the second shoot here was another jaunt over to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway for their Annual Steam Gala in 2026. This also happens to be the first shoot I've done in 2026.
Who would have guessed the first one this year would have been about trains, huh?

For those not in the know, the TLDR of a Steam gala is it's a big shindig of steam locomotive paradise on a heritage railway of both home fleet and visiting engines.
This year, we had visitors GWR 5029 'Nunney Castle', SR 34046 'Braunton' and LMS 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier'.

Having only the time to go on the Sunday, I did miss out on a few things, but I still think I captured a good piece of the overall picture of the event.

Ok, that'll be all from me for today, you can take a look at the full shoots at the respective links below.
Have a lovely day everyone. ❤️

Hello all 👋

I'm finally back with a new photo shoot that has honestly been overdue, which is partially because of being busy, and partially because I had to find new editing software. 😅

Anyways, I present 'Middleton Hospital', my latest Urbex shoot. There's a full description on my site, but TLDR, Middleton Tuberculosis Sanatorium Hospital was built in 1920 to treat Tuberculosis Patients. It lasted till 1990, with all but four buildings being demolished the following year. Said buildings now sit, rotting away in the hilly woods above Ilkley.

Hope you enjoy this one and I should hopefully be back soon with another shoot.
