A few favourites from this gorgeous in home newborn session 🤍

I loved spending the morning with this beautiful family and capturing life with their new baby girl. Big brother kept us entertained and these two were so sweet together. I photographed big brother as a baby too so it was great to see him all grown up and jumping around! If you have an energetic toddler please don’t think we can’t capture sweet moments like these. The photos may look calm but I promise there’s always a bit of chaos in the mix with toddlers too 😂

I always love photographing families at home. Everyone is more relaxed and your photos capture this season of life exactly as it is. The perfect way to remember those early newborn days that pass far too quickly.

I’m back! What a happy summer it’s been, photographing lots of beautiful families whilst making some amazing memories with my own family.

This beautiful maternity session was back at the start of the summer when we had lovely long evenings and the whole summer ahead of us. Now a few months later I’m looking forward to meeting the newest little member of their family in a few weeks 🥰

My boys are back at school today so we’re all getting back into routine and I’ll be working more as well. Hopefully that means I’ll be sharing a few more sessions on here again too.

But first a few highlights from our own summer holidays…
✨ Our holiday to Spain and our first time trying a Eurocamp style campsite right by the beach, followed by a few days of culture in Barcelona. I’d definitely recommend a campsite like this for lots of fun without the all inclusive price tag!

✨ My youngest turning 6 🥹 How did that even happen?! We celebrated at what must be one of the windiest campsites 😂

✨ Lots of time with family and friends, celebrating birthdays, plus a very rare weekend away just me and my hubby.

✨ A LOT of trips to Stockeld Park. We’ve had their summer membership for the past few years and it’s such good value.

✨ And of course plenty of photo shoots amongst all the family fun ❤️

So that’s the last two months caught up. Now I’m looking forward to autumn and photographing lots more lovely families over the next few months 🍂

This is what a newborn session with a toddler often looks like behind the scenes, one parent feeding the baby while the other keeps the toddler entertained.
Newborn sessions are always baby-led and completely relaxed. We go at your family’s pace, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles, nappy changes, and whatever else your little ones need.

This sweet baby was a little unsettled so we stopped for lots of feeds throughout the session, and that’s always absolutely fine. We captured so many beautiful photos that I’ll be sharing soon but I love this little glimpse of real family life too.

If you’re not sure about being in your baby’s newborn photos then that’s absolutely fine. We can focus mainly on your little one, just like this beautiful family chose to do.

During a newborn session, you’ll naturally be holding your baby quite a bit, as that’s where they feel most comfortable and secure. While you’re cuddling them, I can capture beautiful close-up images that keep the focus on your baby, with you simply providing the love and comfort they need.

I know that after childbirth and sleepless nights, many parents don’t feel at their best in front of the camera. That’s why I gently encourage a few parent photos to and you may be surprised how much you’ll treasure them later. But there’s never any pressure to choose them.

We’ll always capture plenty of solo portraits of your baby as well, giving you lots of variety of images in your gallery so you can choose the ones you love most.

These two sisters are just adorable and it was such a joy to photograph them (and their lovely parents!) again ❤️ I’ve photographed them both as babies so just loved seeing them growing up with the cutest personalities. I’ll share some more from their gorgeous bluebell family session soon but just had to go back and have a little look at their newborn pics too!

Those early newborn days feel a little different the second time around when there’s a toddler in the mix. It’s a little less of that cosy newborn bubble and a little more divide and conquer as you juggle everyone’s needs. It may not be quite as peaceful but it’s so special watching your first baby step into their new role as a big brother or sister.
Suddenly they seem so big next to their tiny new sibling and seeing them cuddle and love their new best friend is just the sweetest thing.

How beautiful is this lovely new family of four and their two gorgeous boys (plus their cat and dog too!) I can only imagine all the adventures and memories these brothers will share growing up together.

But these beautiful moments did take a lot of persuasion, tricks and patience so please don’t worry if you think your toddler may not be on board. Not many toddlers will happily pose all by themselves and that’s absolutely ok!

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, but I’m back.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster for our family, and I needed a little break from socials. A few weeks ago, we said goodbye to our beautiful dog Ruby. She was such a huge part of our family for almost 14 years and we’re all still missing her so much.

We’ve also had some lovely moments though, including a wonderful half term away celebrating my eldest turning 9 (how did that happen when it feels like yesterday I took this photo of him with Ruby?!)

So now I’m back, and I’ve got lots of beautiful sessions to share with you over the coming weeks. I’ll also pop a few photos from our half-term adventures into my stories too ❤️

The best thing about being a family photographer is all the wonderful families I get to meet. Somehow this little one is almost two years old now (even though it feels like two minutes ago) and I was lucky enough to visit this gorgeous family again over the weekend to photograph them all again with his baby brother 💙 So here’s a little throwback to his beautiful newborn session. It’s always such a joy to see the little people your gorgeous babies grow into 🥰
