I love photographing church weddings. Capturing the incredible architecture, history, and beautiful moments during a religious ceremony is always a privilege.

However, restrictions on photography vary wildly from church to church.

While most clergy are wonderful and welcoming, photographers occasionally face strict rules and sometimes a bit of lingering tension from past bad experiences with other suppliers.

Because of this, I always double check with you about any photography rules ahead of time.

This helps to ensure:
1. No unexpected surprises: We both know exactly what can (and can’t) be captured, including key moments like the vows or first kiss.
2. Respect for the venue: I always follow the vicar or priest’s boundaries while remaining as discreet and respectful as possible.
3. A smooth day for you. Knowing where I stand (literally!) beforehand means I can focus entirely on capturing your day smoothly without any friction.

So, if you’re marrying in a church, it’s always worth asking your officiant if they have any specific guidelines for photography. That way, we’re all on the same page and can make sure your ceremony is captured seamlessly.

If in doubt, let me know and we can chat through the logistics! I can always make contact with the Church in advance to introduce myself and discuss what works for them too. 🤍

Sasha & Chelcie 💘 where do I begin?! Every wedding is such a joy to be a part of, but this was truly an incredible day and a privilege to photograph.

You could feel the love in the ceremony room and throughout the day 🤍

The Chilli Barn in Otley was a beautiful backdrop for the celebrations and we were lucky to have some beautiful evening sunshine which made for some gorgeous portraits 😍

Reminiscing on last weekend in Bakewell celebrating Caitlin & Sam 🦢 when I tell you, the excitement I felt when I saw these two swans gliding past us during photos 🤩 how beautiful!

I started the day with Sam and his grooms party and what a laugh we had taking photos in the park - the beer race was Sam’s idea, he asked me if we could do it and obviously my answer was YES 🍻 luckily Sam’s suit survived the fall 😂

We had glorious sunshine for family photos after the ceremony, followed by a lovely relaxed reception at the Wheatsheaf pub just over the road from Bakewell Registry Office.

Sam gifted Caitlin a beautiful wooden box with one of their engagement photos carved into the inside - I’m still in awe of this! It’s amazing to see one of my photos crafted in this way, such a beautiful keepsake 😍

Mr & Mrs Watts 🎉 I had the best time photographing this wedding - from start to finish, the vibes were immaculate 👌 from a beautiful Church ceremony followed by ice cream🍦to everyone losing it on the dancefloor to Mr Worldwide, this day was so much fun and the amount of love for the newlyweds was incredible to capture.

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Lissy & Charlie’s wedding up in the Yorkshire Dales and it was absolutely spectacular. They married at a small Church in Stalling Busk, the same one Charlie’s parents got married, and then hosted drinks by Lake Semerwater. It was possibly the windiest drinks reception I’ve photographed, but with stunning views of the hills and music by Ross McWhirter Acoustic it was so picturesque.

The rest of the celebrations were hosted at Lissy’s childhood home, their beautiful garden absolutely took my breath away! You could feel the amount of love, care and preparation that went into each and every detail, making it the perfect place for family and friends to gather and celebrate the newlyweds.

This was such a special and intimate day to be a part of - there’s so many more photos I’d love to share! Thank you Lissy & Charlie for trusting me to capture your wedding day 🫶

Dom & Jess 😍 where to begin? This was one of those days that just overflowed with joy, love and laughter.

From the incredibly moving ceremony led by the amazing Linda, to games of jenga out in the sunshine, to Jess frolicking in her whimsical dress. There was just so much to capture.

Dom & Jess had told me that they were a little nervous about photos, but that soon melted away and they embraced spending the time having fun together, which I believe really shows in their portraits. 🤍

I hope what’s clear in these photos is the pure joy felt by everyone who joined to celebrate with the newlyweds. It was a really special day to be a part of and I can’t thank Dom & Jess enough for inviting me to capture their wedding 🫶

Aimee & Tom’s day was a colourful one, filled with so much joy 🎉

Starting with a small ceremony at Bilton House, Harrogate Registry Office, followed by the most colourful confetti exit & a chilled out reception at - such a fun day! 🙌

I’m still obsessed with the pink and orange colour scheme 😍

Jenny & Brendan strutting across York after just tying the knot surrounded by their closest friends! 🙌

And yes, Jenny is holding two pigeons - possibly one of my favourite bridal portraits of all time 🐦

With only 8 guests in total, Jenny & Brendan’s day felt super chilled - no stress, no rushed timelines, just two people getting married and celebrating with some of their close friends. And you could feel just how happy each and every person was to be there beside them.

As much as I LOVE the energy of a big wedding day, I really adore smaller days like this - it gives some breathing space to truly soak up every moment and leads you to random side quests like feeding the pigeons at the end of The Shambles 💁‍♀️

I loved capturing Natasha & Harry’s reception at after their ceremony at 💫 it’s in the perfect location right by the Minster itself, so as soon as we finished up with portraits, the newlyweds could celebrate with some fizz alongside their wedding guests 🍾

The room barely needed any decor, since the beautiful windows and historical features do all the talking - the bud vases were the perfect finishing touch and added a lovely pop of colour 🌷

I’ve had a few recent York wedding bookings go in the diary for 2027 & 2028 and I can’t wait!
