How is it nearly September?

August has been a mad one for us at New Moon.

We have shot photo, video and content and been busy every weekend since the turn of the month - we haven't had chance to post about the majority of it amongst the chaos.

Throwback to this one though for Chloe and Connor 4 weeks ago.

An absolutely beautiful day, in the incredible setting of the . Back when we had brighter days and warmers weather.

A SECOND SHOOTERS PERSPECTIVE

Was incredible to be behind the lens second shooting for Jane and Louis in Saturday.

Thank you so much to Sammy (Popsicle Photography) for letting me tag a long - always a pleasure to team up.

I saw a post in a wedding content creators group that grabbed my attention...

This BS response pi**ed me off!

Why?

Because it's all about Them!

Their priority was tagging/crediting themselves and how they can raise their own profile from someone else's wedding.

The key focus, ALWAYS, is the couple and the shots that can be captured for THEM.

It's their day, and amongst photographers, videographers and content creators the aim of that team, no matter who they are or how many of you there are, is to work collaboratively to ensure that collectively the couple get maximum value in what they receive.

This selfish perspective and self interest is exactly why content creators get a bad rep - you're not here to have a laugh and just capture fun videos YOU can post on socials - you are delivering a service.

Although I agree too many people on a wedding day doesn't work (depending on how big the wedding is) but there are ways to go about it.

Each vendor should not all be fighting for that same shot - they should be working collaboratively.

The mindset is that each person has to be focused on the couple at all times - that's not the aim.

And this is why, I feel, a lot of content creators starting out get a bad rep. They submerge in what they are doing too much, forgetting the bigger picture.

Change your mindset, think collaboratively, yes get them awesome fu***ng shots, but put the couple first...

And photographers/videographers that don't like change and newbies being on the scene - content creation is not a fad. It is here to stay and it's a fantastic service offering to couples.

There are some incredible content creators out there.

Be accepting of them on the day, collaborate with them and more importantly coach them in being better so we can keep giving our couples incredible memories of their day.

Here's Preview gallery from Karen and Marks belter of a day yesterday at Beeston Manor

We knew we were going to be able to have fun with these two from the minute we hit bridal prep and Karen was in high spirits, busting her moves as we blasted out some Abba to set the mood.

As soon as we got her with Mark he matched her energy and they both leant into our creativity - a dream couple that made capturing portraits effortless.

Their guests got the energy memo too, armed with tambourines as they welcomed the couple into their wedding breakfast and ensuring the dance floor was packed from the first dance.

An amazing day we truly enjoyed capturing start to finish.

Thank you so much for having us.

Hoping for a cooler one, back at today doing Photography and Videography.

Throwback to last time I was there for the incredibly aesthetic wedding of .xo and

An incredible day on what was one of the hottest days of the year. Both Helayna and John werennatieals in front of the camera and allowed us to get some incredible shots. From editorial bridal prep shots with Helayna to to John's blue steel poses and even wacking them on a chair in the middle of the fields - this one pushed our creative boundaries.

Of course, we can't forget stepping in to save the day when they were unfortunately let down by their entertainment supplier - not that anyone noticed and energy was high throughout the day.

Had the pleasure of capturing some shots at the gin tasting evening this week - Springbank Manor / Whitehall Distillery

If you love gin, or even if you don't and haven't already checked this out I would highly recommend.

You are taken on a learning journey through the history of gin, what makes a good gin and of course get to make your very own batch of Whitehall gin, crafting your unique flavour. Not forgetting the spectacular cheese board and multiple free gin mixers and cocktails on offer!

A brilliant evening and can't wait to participate myself on the next one!
