Changing of the guards. Just before they enter a guard will hit the ground twice with his Swagger Stick and then the new guards march in. There isn’t a single second when the Queen isn’t guarded. At the point when the guards change it’s so seamlessly done that it’s almost like you have double vision before they switch position.

As a photographer I’ve had the opportunity to work with some very interesting people in a memorable places.

However, yesterday was the pinnacle of photographic experiences for me. Being able to photograph the Queen lying-in-State in Westminster Hall is a memory that I will hold close forever. The somber atmosphere, the traditions of British history and the people that were calm yet committed made for a moving tableaux.

Over the coming days I’ll share a few of the photographs I took.

Hello 👋🏻 it’s been a while 😂 I’ve been very busy photographing people and not spending enough time posting those photos on these squares! Think between work, house moves and being a mum something had to go on the back burner! Saying all that I’m back 💥 and I’ve got a fact you might enjoy!

Did you know I spend at least 25% of my time on a portrait shoot asking my clients to not tilt their head if they want to more of a professional and less submissive aesthetic. Often people do it because subconsciously they’re trying to show you their listening and being submissive. Women are 50% more likely to do it so if you’re after a more dominant aesthetic make sure you don’t tilt your head.

This image is of Linda Goldspink, a therapist that works in and surround areas.

Hey there 👋🏻 I’ve been very preoccupied with work and totally neglected my Gram life 😂 Mix of work, birthdays, isolations, wedding anniversary and general life that’s just totally taken over 🙈

For now I’m knee deep in editing but I thought I’d share this cute portrait I took of my youngest child before his very first haircut. My eldest’s hair totally changed after his first hair cut, literally went from Renaissance angle style curls to poker straight hair over night!

What do you look for in your headshots? I’ve just finished a client call themed around the psychology and intention of the headshots. What do you want people to think about you? Are there elements you want to ensure come across that don’t with your existing headshots? As humans we all have different aspects of us we want to show to different people and the right headshots can help so much with that!

This headshot is of the lovely Susie during her first ever branding photoshoot before she launched her amazing mats!

Anyone else having a ‘blink and you’ll miss it Monday?’ I literally sat down at my desk at 8:50am and now it’s already noon 🙈

Monday facts are back! Thanks for all your DM’s requesting they return!

What do you think swims faster? A great white shark or hammer head shark?

Answer: hammer head 🤯😱

Turns out my son doing mega beasts as a topic at school isn’t just blowing his mind! 😂

Hello you beauties! How’s everyone doing? I’ve been super busy cramming in editing and photoshoots and I had to share these two images. It’s always tricky choosing which images to post and I’d actually love to hear which one you prefer more out of these two. Thanks! 😘

Natural light photography for portraits is at its best when there is a mix of sun and cloud. Too much sun and it almost gives an overexposed look to your image and also plays havoc with positioning and posing if you’re outside. The best tip for photographing someone outside when it’s too sunny is to turn them away from the sun. If you’re using a smart phone to take the photo then tap on the person once and your phone should automatically adjust your settings to help brighten a person if they’re in the shadows too much.

I’ve always loved natural light photography; it’s a real test of my skills as a photographer when using my HDSLR camera because you’ve really got to know how to work your settings to make the most of the light you have!

I love this image. It was a commission for a gardening publication and anyone that knows me knows I LOVE gardening! One of my dreams is to work with Tnis images is of a volunteer in Brockwell Park’s rose garden. He sat there in the blazing sun in a full suit watering the plants and didn’t even break a sweat! Such a cool dude!

Blimey! For any other parents of school kids, I hope your half-term was absolutely glorious! I don’t think I’ve seen or done as much in the last week as I had done for the 18th months prior, I even got to finish it off by attending an actual wedding 🥳🥳🥳

Saying that, I’m now off to catch up on a lot of editing. Sorry to any clients waiting! I promise to come off the Gram and back onto my Mac right now!
