Sunday Story 💫
A hike to the Daymark in Dartmouth
That pile of people in the first photo in the grass that look exhausted, that’s my family and they are definitely exhausted. We had planned what we thought would be a reasonable one hour hike up to the Daymark. But 2 and a half hours, 4.5 km, and 200 meters up later, we finally reached our destination only to find it behind a locked gate. In the moment, we were all feeling a bit defeated. But once we got back, we all agreed it was one of our best days. We encountered so many wonderful and unexpected views. We found a hidden beach where we rested and played for about 20 minutes. We met really lovely people from the Isles of Scilly on the walk back (and helped each other avoid getting run over by passing cars). Swipe to see more photos of the hike.
We still talk about the Daymark hike nearly 2 years on. My children now measure hikes in terms of this day (is this going to be like the Daymark hike? Longer or shorter than the Daymark walk? 😂)
I thought it might be fun to share some stories from photos I’ve taken both personally and for clients. After all, that’s why we take the photos - to keep the stories fresh in our minds.
