WEDDING INTO THE NIGHT

As daylight disappears, the rules can loosen a little too.

Photographers can sometimes be cautious about combining flash with a slow shutter speed — but for me, that’s when things get interesting. A burst of flash holds the moment sharp, while a slower shutter lets the movement, colour and chaos of the dance floor paint itself around it.

The result? Part photograph, part painting — and a wedding that looks every bit as lively as it felt.

Sharp where it matters. Blurred where it doesn’t. And absolutely no standing still required. Huge thanks to and for having me as their photographer !

A very special request from the bride.

As she walked down the aisle, she wanted Laurie waiting for her with Kevin by his side — making sure one of the most important members of the family was part of the moment too.

It’s these personal details that make every wedding unique, and exactly the moments I love to capture: naturally, honestly and as they happen.

Because weddings aren’t just about tradition — they’re about the people, the personalities, and in this case, the paws that make the day yours. 🐾

Two-hour ceremony? Let’s do it.

A last-minute call from a friend, a beautifully intimate register-office wedding, and just two hours to capture it all.

There was one slight complication - I wasn’t only the photographer. I was also one of the witnesses.

Camera down. Sign the paperwork. Camera back up. 📸

Sometimes you don’t need an entire day to tell the story. A few hours, two people, and the moments that actually matter.

Wedding photography, for me, is about more than documenting the day — it’s about capturing how it felt.

I approach weddings with a relaxed, documentary eye, looking for genuine emotion, fleeting expressions and those unscripted moments that often become the most meaningful photographs. Natural, timeless and honest — allowing the day to unfold rather than constantly directing it.

Incredible night at Soul 46, down Newland Avenue with Dion celebrating the weekend and of course Dion’s early birthday party as well ! Met his whole family (or shall I say most of them) and Gosh . . . What a truly lovely and kind family ! Those kinda birthday parties I don’t mind photographing !
