This is what Ashton Lodge Country House looks like when you pull back far enough to see all of it.

There are venues you need to see from above before the scale registers properly Ashton Lodge Country House is one of them.

This aerial frame shows the slate roof in full, the red-brick chimneys set against the treeline, the covered terrace running along the building's flank, and the grounds extending well beyond what any ground-level photograph could contain. Victorian architecture built to last: none of it is decorative shorthand. The proportions are real.

I captured this on a drone pass on a clear day, and what struck me on review was how coherently the property holds together from altitude. The buildings, the terrace, the surrounding greenery they read as a single composed estate rather than a collection of separate structures.

If you're currently researching wedding venues in Worcestershire and Ashton Lodge is on your list, this photograph gives you an honest sense of what you'd be working with. The grounds are generous, the building is substantial, and the covered terrace means outdoor ceremony and reception options that don't depend entirely on the weather.

I'm available for weddings at Ashton Lodge and would be glad to talk through how I approach photography at this venue specifically.

Rebecca's shoes, "I do" spelled out in rhinestones on the heels. A small detail, but one that's easy to miss if nobody's looking for it which is most of what my job is.

A low, wide frame down the full length of St Bartholomew's nave and the couple at the altar barely fill a fraction of it.

I took this shot from the back of the church, camera low, as close to the stone floor as I could get without losing the altar in the distance. The result is a frame that shows St Bartholomew's as it actually exists, vast, ancient, and entirely itself.

The couple are small in the image. That's not an accident. When a building has this kind of interior scale, the most honest thing a photographer can do is include it. Cropping in tight would have told a fraction of the story.

For couples weighing up ceremony venues in the region, the interior of a church like this is difficult to convey in words alone. The stone nave, the height of the ceiling, the way the available light falls along the length of the aisle, these are things worth seeing before you decide. This single frame comes closer to communicating that than any floor plan would.

If St Bartholomew's is on your shortlist and you'd like to understand what documentary coverage of a ceremony there can look like, I'm happy to walk through it with you.

Christine and Greg's wedding day at The Welcombe Hotel, Warwickshire, from a traditional Chinese tea ceremony on the terrace, to vows overlooking the golf course, to creative portraits after dark.

Two ceremonies, two families, one very fast-paced day to keep up with.

Fiona and James got married in June at St Bartholomew’s Church, then celebrated with family and friends at Stourport Sports Club.

We took portraits on the running track, followed by smoke bombs and a champagne spray as the light dropped. I also put together a large group piece from individual shots of the guests, a nice keepsake alongside the usual gallery.

A great day with a lovely couple. Congratulations, Fiona and James.

Josephine and Samuel were married at St Leonard’s Church in Bretforton at the end of May. A proper warm day, though not the hottest I’ve shot.

Confetti came first, and at a scale I’ve genuinely never seen before, there’s a moment where I lost sight of both of them completely behind it.

That one’s not in the carousel, just a sea of confetti, but it deserves a mention.

Group and family photographs were taken at the church, followed by portraits both on the lawn at The Fleece Inn and around the church grounds. We took it a step further inside, running off-camera flash at the altar for a set of portraits I’m genuinely proud of.

A cellist and a pianist performed at both the church and the reception, with entertainment from JRC Entertainment carrying the evening. Flowers were everywhere inside the church, and dressing every table in the reception barn. Personalised water bottles for guests too.

This wedding didn’t miss a detail.

Later, off-camera flash party portraits in the grounds in broad daylight, followed by smoke bomb silhouettes and a champagne spray as the evening closed out.

Shot alongside a videographer and content creator throughout.

Terezia & Scott | Hogarths Stone Manor, Worcestershire

Hogarths Stone Manor on a spring morning is something else. The formal parterre garden set up for an outdoor ceremony, a full white-and-blue floral arch over the signing table, and bright April light flooding across the stonework as Terezia walked down the aisle with her dad.

That walk down the aisle shot, her face already breaking into a smile before she had even reached Scott, is one of those frames I wait for at every outdoor ceremony. It told the whole story before a single word was spoken.

We made the most of everything the estate has to offer. The ivy-covered courtyard walls, the wooden arbour in the late afternoon sun, a rapeseed field just beyond the grounds catching that golden hour light, and the orchard trees at night with off-camera flash and smoke grenades filling the air around them.

Hogarths Stone Manor is one of those Worcestershire wedding venues that gives you something different at every hour of the day. I have worked here as a recommended supplier for a number of years, and it never gets old.

Congratulations, Terezia and Scott. 6th April 2026. 🥂
