I don’t think we stopped moving for more than 30 seconds this whole session… and honestly, that’s exactly how it should be.

We chased waves, got soaked, threw the kids around, laughed a lot and let them just be kids. These are always my favourite kinds of sessions.

If you’re worried your kids won’t sit still for photos…

Please don’t.

I’d much rather photograph them running into the waves, collecting sand in every pocket and laughing until everyone’s out of breath. That’s where the magic is.

We always think we have more time.

More time for the kids to get a little older.

More time until life isn’t quite so busy.

But life doesn’t slow down.

The tiny hands become bigger.
The missing teeth grow back.
The cuddles become a little less frequent.
And one day, you’ll look back and wonder where the time went.

The truth is, family photos were never about having the perfect outfits, the perfect weather or the perfect season.

They’re about remembering this season.

Exactly as it is.

Because one day, these photographs won’t just remind you what your family looked like.
