A while ago I had the most incredible opportunity to assist .photos, someone whose work I’ve admired for such a long time.

She kindly invited me along and I was able to capture a few moments of my own too including this stunning bride and such a beautiful couple ✨

So this is what I was doing yesterday...

I had the privilege of spending the afternoon assisting the incredibly talented Anna Beth Photography

Watching Hannah work in real time, receiving valuable advice and being able to assist with equipment was such a fantastic learning experience.

I came away with so many valuable insights from shooting techniques to observing how she directs to create the most stunning images.

So grateful for the opportunity & always striving to learn, grow and refine my work 🙏

Good Evening 👋

For those of you that kindly follow my photography page, Photography is still something i'm hugely passionate about and still doing, I have got some bookings for weddings this year and planning on some mothers day / Easter mini sessions.

However, I've realised going into photography how enormously saturated the industry is, I'm on wedding groups and when someone posts they're looking for a photographer there are genuinely hundreds of photographers commenting.

I've contacted people in the sector, venues, suppliers for collaborations and even leaning into music and performance photography which is probably just as hard to break into.

Therefore as I keep my weekends for photography and build my portfolio I still have time in the week I want to dedicate myself to, do some work i'm proud of and enjoy.

I've recently been doing some cleaning for family and friends and it's just become a regular thing, I love it as it works around my beautiful boys and I love the feedback im getting of my loved ones coming home to a fresh & clean home when theyre busy at work.

So here has come about my NEW venture,
Birch & Thorne Cleaning Co,
Focusing on my local area Upper denby, Denby Dale, Birds Edge, Ingbirchworth, Shepley, Shelley, and the local surrounding villages, we're very lucky to have beautiful walks around us and that's what this is rooted in.

The name came from mine and my boys favorite walks, Cawthorne park & Ingbirchworth Reservoir, like many families we want to spend our weekends on these pretty walks & the beautiful pubs and not on cleaning and getting the school uniform ironed.

I have availability on Mondays & Fridays for cleaning slots, ideal to refresh around your weekends and ironing can be collected and dropped off all week.

I may just keep the insta page and link it to my perosnal one because my work and business is all I share on my pages anyways 🙃

Now this was the most fun I’ve ever had on a shoot! 🎸🔥
I got to witness, from the stage, a full-on rocking band delivering an unforgettable performance while the crowd buzzed with excitement.

The energy these guys put out was incredible and being up close to capture the singing, guitars, drumming, and saxophones doing their thing was nothing short of awesome. Moments like this are exactly why I love what I do! Freezing that raw passion and atmosphere in every shot.

Huge thanks to the band for letting me be part of such an electric night. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don’t miss it!

On Saturday 24 January, 2–4pm, HD8 Life is taking over Shelley Village Hall in partnership with Under The Mast to celebrate local – and to launch our brand new podcast, Beyond the Postcode.

Across the afternoon you’ll find a full programme of things happening alongside the stalls and food, including:

🎶 Live music performances
👗 An HD8 fashion showcase
🥋 A live Tang Soo Do Denby Dale demo
🧘‍♀️ An interactive session with Boost Yoga (yes, you can join in)
📚 A sitting of the HD8 Antisocial Book Club (also join-in friendly)
🎨 A free community art workshop with Fizz and Finesse helping create a shared piece of HD8 community art

And towards the end of the afternoon we’ll be drawing our raffle, with tickets just £1 and over 50 prizes donated by brilliant local businesses.

2026 has started off with getting out on more walks, soaking in the winter crisp air and the stunning clear skies and listening to crunching leaves under little feet.

This year I'm stepping into things slowly and meaningfully noticing the small glimpses of wholesome moments in the everyday.

I love capturing big moments like weddings, newborn babies and even big performances and events and along with that i'm capturing the beauty in the ordinary, simple moments like a winter walk.

These quite moments are just as special and meaningful ✨️

So here's a reminder you dont need to wait for a special occasion. There's beauty in the everyday, in your little family, on a quiet winter walk ✨️
