A personal story -
How and why the idea of My Life My Story came about. I lost my stepdad Dave on the Monday and my business partner and close friend Dee on the Wednesday. I couldn't believe it - two of the most important people in my life were gone. Dave had been ill for some time and had been blue-lighted to the hospital more times than I can remember. He was approaching his 80th birthday, altho
ugh we all knew he was tired and it was a blessing he finally let go at home. Although we hadn't seen each other because of the pandemic restrictions, we spoke at least once a week and those conversations were a great comfort at a difficult time but like many at that period she suddenly fell ill and died of covid. That was back in November 2020. It's one of my biggest regrets. I have no excuses. It's just one of those things that I should have done when I had the opportunity. He was a great bloke and everybody loved and respected him. He was a quiet man and was more than happy to listen and get involved when asked. It wasn't until my stepdad passed away that I realised I didn't have any video of him. Working in video production with Dee, I naturally have loads of video of her which looking back gives me great comfort, but sadly none of Dave. It would have been fantastic to show my partner the man who has influenced and guided my life. Sadly, Dave died five months before meeting Sharon and I wish they'd met. Just to be able to watch and listen to his voice and see how humble and calm he was would have been magical. To listen to his stories and those tales he used to tell. This brought forward an idea I'd had a few years before. A video service where loved ones could be filmed and captured forever. A personal service for current and future generations. So My Life My Story Videos was born. It’s a privilege to help others capture and cherish their loved ones on film, now, while they have the opportunity. Andy Green. Video professional and film maker
