Newborn sessions are always slow, gentle, and centred around real life.

They take place in your home, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, and settling. Nothing rushed. Nothing forced.

These early days pass incredibly quickly, which is why many parents choose to document them in the most natural way possible.

If you’re expecting a baby this spring, it’s never too early to start thinking about newborn photography.

There’s something really special about photographing maternity sessions in spring.

Everything feels like it’s waking up again, and that sense of anticipation mirrors exactly what this chapter feels like.

My maternity sessions are relaxed, unhurried, and focused on connection rather than posing.

If you’re expecting a baby this spring or early summer, now is the perfect time to start planning your maternity photoshoot.

March always feels like the month where everything starts moving again.

The days are longer, the air is softer, and families begin thinking about getting outside again.

Spring family photography sessions are one of my favourite ways to capture this season. Nothing overly staged. Just space to move, explore, and spend time together.

If you’ve been thinking about booking family photos this year, March and April sessions are now open.

This is what it looks like when two people forget the camera is there ❤️‍🔥

This couples shoot in Nevada was all wide skies, warm light, and that feeling of being completely wrapped up in your own little world together. No big production. Just connection, movement, and space to be yourselves.

I love photographing couples like this. Not stiff or overly posed, but real, relaxed, and full of energy. The kind of images that feel more like a memory than a photoshoot.

Valentine’s Day felt like the perfect moment to share this one 💘
Whether you’ve been together five months or fifteen years, your story is always worth documenting.

February is a planning month.

It’s when ideas start taking shape before everything gets busy again.

I’ve been working on a one-off Founder Brand Studio Day for founders and business owners who want professional imagery of themselves as the face of their brand – confident, modern, and full of personality.

It’s a limited, intentional offering and not something I’ll be running regularly!

The waitlist is already open, and full details will be shared with those on it first 🤍

We’re still very much in winter, but there’s that subtle shift starting to happen.

The days are slowly stretching. The idea of being outside feels a little more appealing. And spring starts to feel close enough to plan for.

Outdoor family photography works beautifully at this time of year because it gives everyone space. Space to move, explore, and just be together without pressure.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a family photoshoot this year, now is a lovely time to start planning for March and April.

I hear this from business owners all the time.

“I know I need brand photos… I’m just not sure if now is the right time.”

February often brings that feeling. You’re planning, thinking ahead, setting intentions, but not quite in launch mode yet.

Brand photography is often what helps bridge that gap. It works quietly in the background on your website, socials, and content, building trust before you ever need to sell.

Because this side of my work has grown so much, I’ve created a separate space just for brand photography over at

My family work will stay right here as always.
But if you’re a founder or creative planning ahead for spring, that’s where you’ll now find my brand work.

A Founder Brand Studio Day waitlist is already open. Details coming soon!

If you’ve ever compared photography pricing and felt confused, this might help.

I don’t charge for photos. That line can sound strange without context, especially when you’re looking for family photography.

My work is rooted in storytelling photography, where the value isn’t in individual images, but in how they come together to tell a complete story.

Many family photography sessions are structured with a session fee and a small number of images included, with the option to purchase more afterwards. That’s a completely valid approach, and it works well for lots of families.

For my Family Chapters sessions, I don’t separate the experience from the images that come from it. Storytelling photography only works when the full narrative is there – the in-between moments, the details, the connections, and the parts you might not realise matter until later.

That’s why the full gallery is included from the start. When families compare what’s actually included, many are surprised to find this approach often works out as better value overall – with more images, fewer decisions, and complete clarity from the beginning.

There’s no pressure to choose favourites, no worry about missing moments, and no additional costs once you’ve already invested your time and energy. You receive the complete story of your family, just as it unfolded.

If you’re drawn to family photography that’s about preserving feeling rather than selecting a handful of images, this approach may be the right fit for you. And if you’re ever unsure, I’m always happy to talk it through.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES

If you’ve ever thought about booking a family session but worried the start might feel awkward, you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common concerns I hear.

Here’s what usually happens in the first 15 minutes of a storytelling session.

We arrive and take a moment to settle in. There’s no pressure to start straight away and no expectation for anyone to perform. Children often need a little time to take things in, and that’s completely expected.

I don’t immediately start directing or asking for smiles. I spend time observing, chatting, and getting a feel for how your family moves together. If little ones want to explore, cuddle, or stay close, that’s all part of it.

As everyone starts to feel more comfortable, I’ll gently guide you into the light or suggest simple ways to be together. Nothing complicated, nothing staged. Just small prompts that help things flow naturally.

By the time those first 15 minutes have passed, most families have forgotten about the camera entirely. That’s when the session starts to feel easier, and the moments begin to unfold on their own.

If this sounds like the kind of experience you’d feel comfortable with, you can find more details about storytelling sessions on my website.
