I don’t like to waste paint, so if there’s any oil paint left on my palette when I’ve finished something. I magically transform it into four post card sized original art creations on paper. Four versions of the gathering of six trees. Now hanging on my drying beam. Feeling quite pleased with themselves. Chatting.

There’s this song that I’ve got on a CD and the lyrics go “oh follow me my Love”. It’s quite haunting and I love it. And for some reason while I’m painting this scene - which I’ve now painted about eight times, this song, this beautiful beautiful song, is playing on a loop in my head. I feel like there’s something very beautiful and mysterious waiting at the end of this path.

Looking across, it can be quite bleak. But always beautiful. In winter this side of the hill doesn’t get the sun. There’s always a smattering of snow that lingers longer here.
