"Kotiya" endemic sub species of Sri Lanka. One of the Largest and as they are the Apex, unlike anywhere else in the world, Sri Lanka is arguably one of the best places to photograph Leopards. They are active through the day and roam around without fear unlike in Africa or India where they have to be vary of Lions and Tigers. Yala has the highest density of Leopards anywhere in the world.
I will be running an expedicition next year for a small group, if you want to know more details drop me a line.

Sri Lankan Sloth bear. What a joy to watch this big boy as he ambled behind our jeep going about his buinsess. You most definately dont want to be crossing his path without the safety of the vehicle.
A rare sighting in yala these days. These sub species of the Indian Sloth bear are listed vulnerable in the IUCN list and it is said for every 10 leopard sighting you get to see one Sloth bear.
Next year my trip will be organised with the best time to see these majestic animals.
Let me know if you are interested as spaces will be limited.

The Oriental Dwarf KIngfisher, a wetland and forest specialist with a varied diet. In my recent trip to Sri Lanka I had the pleasure of observing a pair feeding the young through the day. This has been a dream bird for me and to watch and photograph it as it fed the young was very special.
I will be leading a little expedition to Sri Lanka next year, who wants to come?
