It is my dream every summer to go and walk amongst the sunflowers where the fields start to pop around!

This time I’ve finally made it. I’ve had a beautiful walk, sketched the moments, took about hundred selfies and photos. At home I painted from memory and the sketch I made at the spot, hope I’ve captured the positive glowing energy on the canvas.

There were so many friendly bees I just had to paint them there too ☺️

Hope you have a great summer too! (Back to my easel now 😁)

A little plein air & catch up with my lovely friend yesterday. Visiting local park we remember from our childhood, such a nice place to paint (and just behind home) ☺️

Plein air session in Třeboň castle! This one was a confusing one.. I’ve started going on plein air in London, enjoying catching any place I choose on my canvas. I like talking with everyone who is interested in what I’m painting, always hear many lovely comments. This time it was the same in many ways, but different too!! Apparently in Czech you cannot go and paint anywhere! 🫣 About an hour before I was finished the castle warden approached me and quite rudely said I have to get out because I could destroy the historical building. Well it got me thinking about how materialistic humanity became, how we ban artist to make a new piece just to protect the old one. (And it’s not the private property, it’s republic’s so we all sort of have it…)

Anyway, many people compliment me, the castle guide said seeing me there with my easel there is very refreshing and that we artists make the world more beautiful place. (I think it’s already beautiful, we just found a way to highlit it.❤️)

I have still had a lovely paint out, unfoturnatelly I can’t be coming back (not even in the parks around! And apparently to paint in the town square U should get permission from policie fisrt too…)

I’m proud of choosing this daring composition, painting the reflection of the tower upside down 🤭)

So goodbye Třeboň I’m not so keen on coming here anytime soon ☠️😂

My artist friends can you let me know if you ever had a similar experience of not being able to paint where you choose? Do you think it’s ok to ban painters to protect the grounds?🙏

I’ve just returned from a wonderful Rome adventure with my mum! Best bit was keeping the travel journal from Výtvarný a kreativní obchod Anope Art which I aimed to fill. (Because I knew once I’m back I wouldn’t finish it 😂)
Last bits were done in the airplane… But I’ve done it! 💪 😅

What I loved about Rome is that you visit any church and it’s filled by masterpieces like Michelangelo, Caravaggio or Bernini, to my taste there was too much gold everywhere, but I loved how the art speaks in it’s quietness, yet much louder than the decor.

My three top places were:
Museo Nacional de Arte Romano
Convent that was designed by my all time favourite artist Michelangelo, I was so surprised to find out that the cypress trees there might be planted by him too! ❤️ And I didn’t expect the surrounding roman baths to take my breath away.. But they did.

Two Sizes whose peanut butter tiramisu spoiled my taste forever! (Already made a batch back home😂🥜) and also eden.parradiso.del.pistachio was a great nutty inspiration! 🤩

Chiostro del Bramante, Roma which has this extraordinary interiors blended with the ancient architecture, they serve very nice ice coffee too! 🤭

And everything else was just great. We have walked over 60 kilometres in this crazy heatwave 😂 And it was first trip just me and mum together, also first ever plein air with her! (And she is reeeealy good! Her travel diary is nicer than mine, I suspect she is more patient for this kind of style! 😂👏👌)

Grazie Roma, arrividerci! 👋

(Surprisingly the biggest challenge was to wrap it! 😂)

“Longing-Touha” 70cm x 100cm

This is a commission by a wonderful Jaroslava Samková and it’s proudly hanging in it’s new forever home now. ❤️🙏

I was asked to paint some birds on a larger canvas. I didn’t know exactly what I’m gonna paint until I took a lovely evening stroll at the wedding in a beautiful town Vodňany. I was captured by the beautiful sky with dramatic clouds (some looking like air elementals 🤭). I was looking up in awe and suddenly there were swallows everywhere, joyfully dancing above me. I just knew this is the view for the painting.

I believe when you are asked to paint for a specific person the painting comes up just right for them. And this time I got a confirmation again. For the lady I was painting this for, swallows have a special place in her hearth. She was a little girl looking at swallows, longing to do what they do. Travel somewhere and then come back home. She since the travelled the world and has many wonderful stories which she tells with the joy in her eyes.
Of course I didn’t know how symbolic swallows are for her. But I think something within me felt it. ☺️

I really love painting commissions so feel free to contact me if you need a painting too! (Don’t worry if you don’t know “what” if might figure itself out..🤭) It’s a great honour to be invited as an artist to create something you want to look at every day in your home. Thank you Jaroslava Samková ☺️❤️

It’s so special when your friend and collector celebrates his big birthday. I wanted to surprise him… But he surprised me more! 😂

So here we are, something hanging on the wall next to my foxy painting and instead of sharing with you what is underneath that brown wrapping paper, I give you a display of my wrapping skills. 😂

Here’s to the brilliant mind of Jan Batysta 🥂👏
(You have definitely boosted my wrapping skill confidence very much!)

What a weekend! 😅
We have celebrated 70th Birthday of one of the funniest and brilliant person I know my all life 🥳

My dad. He is a lot! He is called a Robot. Also he is a TV chef, non stop stand-up comedian, handyman, chaos maker. He is a joy bringer and loves people.

He is very inspiring in many ways.
I have painted him a special place, a river Černá where he has spent his childhood.
My sister wrote a book for him filled with stories he used to made up and tell us for the bedtime. Mum run a pub quiz. And of course we sang! 🎶

And as a cherry on the top, we were treated to the most delicious pastries by 🤩❤️🙏 and had some delicious food at beautiful venue
