Summer is very much in full swing, and we have a service update for you! 🚨

We are continuing to experience a huge volume of orders coming in to the lab, and we’re working literal overtime to try and get through them.

Unfortunately, we have fallen behind previous turnaround estimates since many of you handed your film in. We are now quoting ~10 working days for C41 & BW.

We are still getting dozens of emails chasing orders every day. We cannot respond to those and scan your film at the same time.

We kindly ask that you hold tight and you will receive an invoice as soon as your order’s ready. If there are any issues with your order, we will get in touch with you.

The TL;DR (but please do read) is that this is the busiest we have ever been, and we are working hard to deliver your photos as fast as we can.

So please. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please. Pretty please. Help us to help you. Stop chasing orders. We are eternally sorry. We feel like we're on fire. We're getting crispy.

Numbers are in for July and that was our busiest month on record! ☀️ So, a huuuuge thanks to all of you out there sending us your precious film to develop from quite literally all corners of the globe! 🌍

We're still working hard to get the backlog down, and really appreciate your patience while we do so. 🙌

🛑 Starting Tuesday 21st July we are unable to complete new ECN2 orders until further notice. This is due to temporary unavailability at the cine lab we outsource ECN2 to.

⏸️ New ECN2 orders received and verified by the lab during this period will be safely stored until the service can continue.

📣 We will update you as soon as the service is available again, and until then please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused!

✅ If you have already received your conformation of arrival email, this will not apply to you. So please do not contact us about your order.

🎞️ Meanwhile, we are still working overtime to try and catch up with the backlog. Please do not chase orders that are within turnaround times (turnaround times are in working days, not calendar days), as all emails we answer take us away from scanning your film!

In June we moved the lab to a new premise, and here's some video from those initial couple of weeks while we felt like we were losing our minds in the backrooms!

PROOF OF LIFE.

Hi! It's been quite the week. The lab on Torrisdale is no more and we've fully moved into Niddrie Road.

Here's a selection of photos from the move. And yes, the very fact you are seeing these means that the scanners survived the move and we've ALMOST got the lab up and running (just a few more things to check!). Phew. We have an insane backlog to get through so pretty please, with sugar on top, STOP EMAILING US TO CHASE YOUR ORDERS. We're on it, promise!

PS: if you see the shutter open in the old lab, don't go under looking for us. It'll be just you and the worms x

Lovers of fine grain, rich contrast, and saturation dialled to 11, rejoice 🙌

We're very pleased to announce our new E6 service!

💷 £15 for dev and scan, £10 for dev only

⏱️ Turnaround of ±14 working days
🧪 Genuine E6 chemistry

Processing is outsourced to a dedicated lab and positives are scanned in-house.

We’re also stocking E6 films for sale in-store (Kodak E100 and Fuji Provia).

With less dynamic range than C41 stocks, shooting reversal film can be daunting, so check out our blog for some practical advice on how to successfully shoot colour reversal film for the first time, with side-by-side comparisons between the Noritsu and Frontier! 🫡

Yesterday we bid adieu to Audrey as she anticipates the arrival of her secondborn. Audrey has worn many hats - journalist, indie rocker, photographer, mother, and for the last three years, Gulabi all rounder ... but her favourite hat is definitely the Ilford snapback. We’ll miss you dearly Auds! Thanks for everything 🫡

END OF YEAR DATES + MORE!

It’s Christmaaaaasssss! Behold this lovely illustration of our little lab by and also the below dates!

Any film received after the cutoffs will be processed in the new year.

🟡 Colour/C41 cutoff - Thursday 18th December @ 16:00
⚫️ B&W cutoff - Thursday 18th December @ 16:00
🔵 ECN-2 cutoff - Monday 8th December @ 16:00

🏬 Last day of trade - Saturday 20th December
✨ Shopfront reopens - Friday 9th January

Glasgow drop points:
📦 Last collection Tuesday 16th December, resumes Tuesday 6th January (subject to opening hours of drop points)

Edinburgh Drop points:
📦 Last collections Thursday 18th December, resumes Friday 9th January

🧪 Processing resumes - Tuesday 6th January

While we are shut the drop point outside the lab will still be available 24/7, and emptied regularly.

PRICE CHANGES

We’re very proud that we’ve managed to keep costs low while keeping our turnarounds quick year round, but like a lot of businesses, we are feeling the squeeze. Our new prices will be rolling out from 15th December, to adjust for our increased overheads with chemicals, materials, labour, and equipment amongst other things. For what it’s worth, the new prices are the same or lower as our launch prices in 2019!

Any orders received in the lab after the 15th December will have new prices applied, even if placed prior. Please see the pricelist page on our website for details.
