Bart Photography

Bart Photography It's about people and about the vibes. it's about getting close and about participation. It's about passion and dedication on both sides of the lens.

Bart Photography is a small photography business founded and ran by Bartosz Madejski, a Polish-born, Glasgow-based photographer whose work usually has something to do with music. A constant work in progress, Bart Photography exists somewhere at the intersection of music (particularly reggae & dub), independent culture, cool events and documentary.

One more added to my new YouTube channel where I intend to keep some relevant examples of my video work.
This one is from a friend and great artist Cian Finn who played a few tunes for the camera in my old 'studio' back in 2019.

I'm re-uploading some examples of my video work to a new YouTube channel. Sadly Vimeo, which was always a very low key way of showcasing my work anyway, is not even searchable any more in this part of the world.
I had to do something.
Here's one more quick personal project shot on a sunny morning in a nice woodland.

This little personal project feels pretty special to me.
Please join me for 5 minutes to relax and experience some of the beauty of Crinan Wood, one of the last surviving pockets of Scotland's Rainforest.

It was my day off but it's not like I'd pass up the opportunity to capture something nice on camera.

The final result of a few consecutive wrong turns on yesterday's trip to Inverclyde.
Taken somewhere by Loch-where-the-hell-am-I that was supposed to be Greenock Cut area but definitely was not 😅
Getting a bit lost has its charm too and the low winter sun looked great.

It always feels good to see my work being well presented, the new website of Northern Lights Dumfries definitely ticks the box with my same-night edit video preview from last year taking centre stage!

South Anderston is rapidly changing, adding cyberpunk-style dystopia to the existing post-industrial decay.
I don't mean the tall buildings - I don't mind them that much.
It's just that the authorities did not even show up when it came to the regeneration of the area and now all we have is a race to get the highest possible quick return on investment for commercial developers.
That, and obviously the world-(in)famous inner city M8 motorway joining with the city-centre end of the Clyde Expressway. The kind of infrastructure that's normally built on the outskirts but we have in right in the middle of the city.
Meanwhile, there are 36,000 people on the housing waiting list in Glasgow alone and it's difficult to see any evidence in our area of the NPF4 national planning policy being implemented (it says every new build in the city should include a minimum of 25% 'affordable housing').

Sunshine and clouds looked nice though 🤩

Some photos of the counter-protest against the far-right in Glasgow today.
There were many, many more of us than them - which has always been the case whenever I made it to counter-protests like this one over the last 15+ years.
Scotland, and Glasgow in particular, is too smart to fall for their hateful message.
Nae pasaran!
If anyone's confused - the small group waving Union Jacks on the Buchanan Steps are the far-right. They've been trying hard to hijack the Scottish flag recently but hopefully it will never work. The saltire it's been a symbol of tolerance and inclusion for a long time and hopefully it will always remain to be exactly that.

I tend to look at things differently when I'm filming - and this time I was filming with a lens that also makes things look a bit different.
A quick lens test in one of my usual walking spots in Glasgow.

Some footage from an evening walk around Glasgow Science Centre and the River Clyde. Blazar Mantis 35mm T2.0 lens tested with Lumix S5iiX (via EF to L-mount adapter). Shot…

Another high rise building demolished in Glasgow. I think I took photos of another demolition from the 16th or 17th floor of the front block in 2008, at that time it was freshly refurbished and looked like it was going to stay inhabited for a while.
