The Tartan Therapist

The Tartan Therapist I'm Scottish, an experienced nurse, beauty and complementary therapist (hence 'The Tartan Therapist').

I love travelling, eating good food and though I have no formal training, I enjoy taking photos on my camera/mobile phone.

Yesterday I told you about our travel day heading to Gairloch and about our food followed by a walk around Ullapool.

I also said I'd post photos of guys who were sitting on the beach as we watched the ferry head out again. I wondered if someone on FB/IG might know them and send it on?

It's one of the best views in Scotland standing there and I love taking random photos of people going about their business. It was lovely watching them interact. They seemed lovely young men.

This was 5.33pm on Friday 19th June.

Let's see the positive side of social media.

We're not long back from our annual trip to Gairloch.

Our weather started like this - rain bouncing down. We were late in starting off (not my fault this time - Mr TT emptying his entire wardrobe for one pair of shoes he had to have) and missed Harry Gows on the way up. I wasn't driving, so no complaint from me about a wee detour to Ullapool to visit The Seafood Shack (not my usual photo with food and the ferry as I was going to eat someone and couldn't wait to feed my face). Great food as usual and lovely coffee from across the road at Jojo Cafe Ullapool . The scent of the cinammon from the carrot cake baking in the oven was sublime!

Then a wee walk around to see the ferry leaving (photos of some young guys on the beach to come) and a wander past The Bothy and Bespoke Beauty (love the look of this wee salon) before heading back to the car for the rest of the journey.

A great Saturday evening spent in the company of Cafedelmundomusic at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

This is the second year we've been to see them, last year being at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh. Mr TT plays guitar and if I'm honest I wasn't really sure how I'd feel about the experience. I was quickly mesmerised by the extraordinary talent and beautiful pieces such as Winterhauch and Una Mattina, leading onto Coldplay and AC/DC. It seemed a natural part of the journey to see them again this year.

Here's an extremely short clip of Avicii Wake Me Up. I'm hopefully not causing any issues posting this. I hope it might encourage you to buy tickets if they're back in Scotland in 2027.

Recent first time visit to The Book Nook Stirling for mum and daughter quality time together.

Cake, coffee, chat and some retail therapy.

I've promised myself that one day my home library will look like this instead of a loft library.

Beautiful little Church (Ermita de San Francisco Javier I believe), Yé, Lanzarote.

If you feel energetic, you can walk up Mount Corona behind.

Lanzarote has so much to offer, if you're willing to hire a car.

Another of our day trips while staying in Uig.

Beautiful B***adh (B***a) beach.

We met this little friend there. I don't know much about sheep, so I wasn't going up to investigate for dangly bits, but I'm guessing with the curly horns it's a Scottish Blackface ram?? 🐏🐑
