My biggest accomplishment and proudest moment in my photography journey is the Imag(in)e exhibition. The journey I have taken to get where I am has been challenging but worth it. I am so grateful for everyone who has helped and supported me through my three years at university. Here is my final degree exhibition…
“The Truckleducks: Enchanted Shadows”
Do you feel a sense of imagination and adventure? Now is the time to forget the norm and embrace childhood adventures.
"The Truckleducks: Enchanted Shadows" is a series of photographs that adeptly captures the essence of childhood wonder and imagination. This project serves as an illustration and visual representation inspired by a heartfelt, family-authored book detailing the adventures of the author and their children. Each image in the series is based on a specific scene from the book, depicted on a map. With vivid imagery and endearing characters, this series is poised to enchant audiences across all age groups.
I aim to seamlessly blend real-world elements with the magical essence of fairies in my photography using photography, AI, and digital illustrations. The aim of my photographs is to illustrate how manipulation in photography can profoundly influence the way viewers interpret and engage with a particular image, much like the two young girls who famously created the Cottingley Fairies photographs.
Inspiration for this series originates from the fascinating story of the Cottingley Fairies, which revolves around two young girls who were eager for people to believe in their enchanting tales and extraordinary adventures in the 1920s.
This series commemorates the creative genius of my dad, the author of the original book. Reflecting on our childhood, the project celebrates the joint creativity and imagination which crafted the storyline and revives the characters to resume their adventures once more.
