Happy 38th Anniversary to my wonderful husband! 🏠❤️
I wanted to share a little story today that many people might not know. Years ago, when I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my passion, this man spent his very first work bonus on my very first DSLR camera.
Through the shaky early times he carried us. When doubt and worry started creeping in, he squashed them. And today, during my busiest times, he’s still the one making sure I’m fed, bringing me cups of coffee, and cooking dinner while I’m locked away for hours processing images.
They say it takes a village, but to build Ellie J Photography, it just took him. We might have three human children and one fur baby, but this business is truly our fifth child together - definitely a joint effort. I would never have believed in myself enough to persist without you. Thank you for always being my rock!

One of the things I love most about newborn photography is capturing connection.

Tiny fingers, sleepy faces and the way a newborn seems to fit perfectly into Mum or Dad's arms.

Simple photographs like this never go out of style because they aren't about trends. They're about family.

There is something so special about sibling photographs during a newborn session.

For a little while, they are still tiny enough to fit in big brother's arms, and before long they'll be running around together causing chaos!

These are the photographs that often become family favourites, capturing the very beginning of a lifelong friendship. ❤️

I met this little man a little later than originally planned due to a longer hospital stay, but today's session was every bit as special. We enjoyed lots of beautiful sleepy moments, along with some gorgeous wide-eyed images that perfectly captured his personality.

As you can see, he didn't come alone! Along with Mummy and Daddy, he brought his very protective big sister and self-appointed stand-in mummy, who kept a close eye on proceedings throughout the session. What a beautiful girl she is, and so gentle with her new baby brother.

Thank you so much for choosing Ellie J Photography to capture these precious early memories. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and I hope you treasure these images for many years to come. ❤️

This is why I always allow plenty of time for newborn sessions – no rushing, no pressure… just waiting for those tiny, magical moments to happen naturally.

And when they do? Worth every second.

Its the tiny details that are so often overlooked and then sadly missed when our little ones grow - and that tiny swirl at the top of a newborn's head is a great example. I love capturing little details like this for my new families - something to ensure such perfect little memories never fade!
