**Photography is my therapy. 📸**

Wedding, family beach photoshoot or just a walk with my camera — every time I feel a bit low, photography helps. I take my camera, go somewhere and start looking for pictures. Works for me every time🤍

I recently spoke with Dorset View about my photography project Occupied / Unoccupied, my family’s experience of living under occupation in Ukraine, and rebuilding our life here in Dorset. 🇺🇦❤️🇬🇧

Ukrainian photographer Iryna Sozanska speaks to Louis Pulford about her journey from Ukraine to Dorset and the story behind her photography exhibition, Occupied/Unoccupied.

Iryna photographed her family during the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, documenting life under occupation and their eventual evacuation. Now living in Ferndown, she has brought those experiences together with photographs of her family's new life in Dorset.

The exhibition explores the contrast between war and peace, fear and safety, loss and renewal — and the importance of ordinary life.
