Life and light in the darkness.
Here are some infrared explorations that never made it onto my grid last year, though it did make an excellent desktop background!

Water absorbs infrared light which is why the river is so dark and plants reflect infrared light making them appear to glow. That's how this beautiful contrast was created when I captured seaweed in the Tay river on a super sunny day. I have also included a shot of the North Carr lighthouse, furthering this visual conmentary.

Looking for Assistants for Commercial & Studio Work

I am looking to build a bank of assistants to support me with on-site and studio work. My current client base includes various businesses, museums and arts organizations, and I’m looking for some cool and reliable people to join me!

The Roles:
• On-Location: Assisting with gear transport, lighting setup and other bits.
• In-Studio: Tech support (Apple and Capture One) and helping with heavy stuff like lighting and set building.

Rates: Pay is based on experience and technical ability. I am also very open to hearing from those looking to gain industry experienc in exchange for helping with less technical jobs.

If you are interested please email me with a bit about you and your experience and comment below to give me a heads up

A little bit of moving image that I filmed for Curtain Call exhibition campaign. So good to see it out in the wild!
This costume was worn by Meryl Streep in Suffragette and is being modelled here by the wonderful Abbey Adams.

When women seek freedom, express emotion, or actively seek sensory pleasure, people are so quick to label it as madness. She's losing it, she's out of (our) control, she's dangerous!

When men do the same it’s more often called passion, growth and exploration. "Boys will be boys."

In these images Emma is cold, wet, and dirty, and completely present!
She is not fragile or hysterical, she is just feeling and moving, contemplating and becoming.

I also can’t help but think about how, through the male gaze she might become an object of desire or tragedy. Through mine she’s simply existing beautifully, owning her space, her body and her calm.

Do you ever have so much to say that you can't think what to say? Well that 😅

So here's our 'official' waffle about this.

"This work reimagines the figure of Ophelia through the female gaze. We explored the tension between control and surrender, beauty and chaos.

Captured through a neurodivergent lens, these images invite the viewer to engage senses beyond sight - to feel weight, damp air, and movement.

In this work we set out to question how expressions of autonomy, emotion, and sensory seeking are framed. Expressions of freedom are often labeled as madness in women but rarely questioned in men.

In these moments of tension and release, the viewer is invited to witness not a breakdown, but a becoming."
