According to local reports, unnamed investors are looking to buy Village and Market Row — and if they succeed, local traders say it could mean soaring rents and evictions.

In response, the The Advocacy Academy and are calling an emergency public meeting this Friday 19th June to rally support for a community-led counter-bid — one that would keep the markets in the hands of the people who built them.

The sale window has been slashed from six months to just days. Bidding closes Monday 22nd June.

Over 1,200 people have already signed a petition backing community ownership.
