Came across this little baby elephant staying close to its mum while she enjoyed a cooling dust bath 🐘🤎

Occasionally, the curious little one would wander a short distance away, and almost instantly the mum would gently walk closer to keep it near.

An Asian elephant calf spends nearly 22 months in its mother’s womb — the longest pregnancy in the animal kingdom. At birth, these babies already weigh around 90–115 kg and stand nearly 3 feet tall… !

They’re born blind, but within minutes they begin trying to stand, walk, and stay close to their mother’s side. Watching this tiny one explore while mum stayed calmly protective was such a beautiful reminder of how gentle, caring, and connected these giants truly are!

Found this gorgeous group of bee-eaters all roosting together, snuggled up for the night. 🐦🌙
At first, they just looked like strange little blobs on a tree… but on closer inspection, I realized they were birds fast asleep.

Did you spot the one still on guard duty? Thanks to a fascinating trick called unihemispheric sleep, birds can rest one half of their brain while the other stays alert for predators.

Under the moonlit skies of Bhigwan, another beautiful encounter with the Indian Nightjar resting on a stone..🌙🦉

The Indian Nightjar is actually quite common across India, but its nocturnal nature and exceptional camouflage make sightings feel truly special. The last time I spotted one was years ago in Kanha , while returning from a safari at dusk — and now, during a peaceful night ride through the grasslands, nature gifted another magical moment..

Spent quite some time watching this Grey Heron patiently calculate the perfect strike before finally landing a massive catch. 🎯🐟

I think my constant staring may have made him a little uncomfortable though… he gave me a look that clearly said, “Do you mind? I’m trying to eat here.” 😄

Not long after, he picked up his takeaway and flew a little farther off to enjoy his meal in peace. Nature always has its little moments of humour. ✨

Bhigwan after dark hits different!

I’ve been here so many times for the migratory birds, the majestic Flamingoes but I never realized what I was missing. Managed to spot this pair of Spotted Owlets during a quiet ride that night. No fancy daytime lighting, just a raw, lucky moment thanks to the locals who knew exactly where to look.
