I walked into their new London apartment and there were still boxes in the corners, that slightly chaotic “we’ve just moved and nothing quite has a place yet” energy in the air, and I remember thinking how much I love photographing families exactly in moments like this.
It was mum, dad, their little girl who honestly did not stop smiling the entire time, and a very important tiny dog who clearly believed this was all organised for him. It was our first photoshoot together, so we gave ourselves time - we had a coffee, we chatted, we let the little one warm up to me, and I slowly walked around the flat figuring out where the light felt softest and which corners already felt like home for them.
At the beginning there’s always that tiny moment of “how do we stand, what do we do,” especially when we’ve never worked together before, but then something shifts. They relax. They forget about me. And that’s when it just clicks - and I click away.
This is what I love most about home family sessions. It can be your very first weeks in a new flat, with unopened boxes and echoey rooms, or it can be the house you’ve lived in for ten years. If it’s your home, it already tells the story. The space is part of who you are at this exact stage of life.
One day these photos won’t just be “remember when we had just moved in.” They’ll be the beginning of your family story in that space - before more toys appear, before the walls get scuffed, before life fills every corner even more.
That’s what I want these images to be - not just pretty pictures, but a document of this season, of this feeling, of you as you are right now.
If you’re looking for a relaxed, personalised experience where you don’t have to perform or pose perfectly, and you just want photos that feel like you, I’m here.
