These are self portraits of my journey through depression…I figured I’m a photographer and I knew creativity was my door to work through my state of being…so I embraced the moment.
I had a sheet of latex I’d used for photographing wine explosions, so I grabbed that and these are some of my self portraits.
No Ai what so ever, all in camera photos!

Here’s an introduction to my ‘fantastic breakables’
No Ai was used…I made them 12-13 years ago as a way to navigate myself through depression.

That’s the link…I was never going to suffer with depression, I was too strong for that…. Until life just became too much & I felt utterly breakable.

I wanted to make art by recycling my career, by taking bread & butter product photography and recycling it, making new images. I guess I was trying in the only way I knew how, to recycle myself.

In these images I’ve created, I used images of plates, a wine glass & champagne flute, the rest I used Photoshop and my imagination.

This is a selection, there’s additional images that are all crockery made into people/characters I’ll be posting soon.

I can’t wait to finish the foxglove gate mural, it’s just been too hot…for the paint. It’s been drying before I get the brush to the gate!!

So, over the next few days, I’ll squeeze in finishing it off…. That’s the plan!

The burning question, I’d love help with…. Do I add some grasses and outer light green stuff at the bottom of the foxglove, to give it a bed to sit on?!

There’s still lots to add, the gorgeous speckle of the cup detail, maybe put a dark edge around the whole thing, when it’s cooler my blending will be straight forward…. Blah blah…. Any ideas throw them at me!!

Please either comment or dm, with your suggestions!
Thank you x

I flipping love creating, it’s where I get my calm, content, honestly me moments.

This is only the 3rd time I’ve painted a picture with real paints, in close to 40yrs.
I miss it, this isn’t the last you’ll see me at it, I promise! I’ve been painting digitally and it’s just not buzzing me up in the same, 3D way.

In the moment, of painting one of my favourite uk flowers, on my mum’s gate, i built for the purpose…I just feel mega! I hope it shows…

Watch this space for updates.
Cheers
