The winter show opens this weekend at the Saltburn Studios and Gallery. I'll be showing these vignettes of Saltburn Gill. It's also Open Studios on Saturday from 12 till 4, if you want to look around. I'll be offering my landscape prints and greeting cards at clearance prices.

One of the privileges of working with old cameras is the behind-the-scenes tour. I recently bought a war-time Voigtlander. Although in generally good condition, the mirror was in need of resilvering. When I took it out, a date (presumably the date of assembly) was scratched on the reverse - nice to have the human contact. A company in London did a great job of the front surface mirror. I don't often give a shout but Vacuum Coatings Ltd were great (and a tenth the cost of the next quote!).

Never bought one of their cameras, but the demise of Ebony is both sad and revealing.
