April 20th, 2020, was a cold, rainy day in Portland, OR. We were also in the thick of the COVID-19 lockdown. I was looking at Craigslist listings that day and noticed someone selling a Ricoh GR-2 point-and-shoot camera. The last time I visited my Uncle in the UK, he showed me photos he had taken with his Ricoh, and I found them hauntingly beautiful. So I reached out to the seller. Since it was COVID, the exchange was planned out like a hostage swap. The seller left a baggie out in the rain with the camera, and I put money in the bag. The seller lived in the hills west of Portland, and as I was heading back home, I stopped at a graveyard alongside the road to take one photo with the camera. This is the photo.
