Been a really slow start to the year, with no sign of improvement in the foreseeable. So let's remind ourselves of some of the pitfalls that we all make when processing our astro images. The Lord doesn't need us to make them what they're not in order to display the glory of His creation. We already do enough of that as it is JUST to show the world what He can do. Let's get back to basics again.

Whether you’re using a smart telescope like the SeeStar or just starting out with manual stacking and PixInsight, this video breaks down the most common proc...

Because why not? Can't sleep (serves me right for having a nap earlier I guess), so let's go and have a look at more of the Lord's work. He makes such splendid creations, it's almost criminal to not give thanks to Him for what He does. As I'm often told by Amanda, it's like enjoying the most delicious cake and not thanking the baker. Couple of frames from Monday evening around M33, approximately 20:15 - 20:30hrs.
Our first one, which I'm dead chuffed with, the asteroid 433 Eros. Confirmed via SAS Pro, and Stellarium, matching FoV and date/time. Not done anything with the images other than saturation, these are screenshots direct from the fits files. 5 min exposures with Millie's 80ED-R and 26C

M42, the Orion Nebula

Two hours of 30 seconds frames, unfiltered. Pretty happy with this as it was an 85% moon. Even managed to not totally destroy the core stars for a change. I do so love seeing His creation. It's a humbling reminder of His power and majesty β€οΈπŸ™

I don't do lunar imaging (and it shows!) But managed to get some done on NYE. This is Mare Humorum (in the centre) with the Gassendi Crater on its right side.
