I'm Kate Campbell and I've loved being a professional photographer since 2012 (wow that's a long time). Helping women tell the story of their business and brand is just part of my photography passion. I also spread the love of photography when I teach hobbyist photography with Going Digital Yorkshire, and have fun photographing babies and children in our studio. For me it's all about people - helping them find their confidence and have fun whether that's in front of behind the camera.

Last night's event was one of those evenings where you leave feeling inspired, energised and very glad you made the effort to go 💛

We heard from Evelina about Thermomix, enjoyed some absolutely delicious homemade snacks (which deserve a mention all of their own 😋) With the main talk with Dawn from .apparel who gave a fascinating talk on colour, style and confidence.

I genuinely came away thinking about colour in a completely different way.

It was one of those talks where you find yourself constantly nodding along and making mental notes.

But as always, one of my favourite parts of the evening was the people.

Meeting new faces.
Having great conversations.
Supporting local businesses.
Learning from one another.

A huge thank you to Corinna for bringing us all together once again and creating such a welcoming community.

Already looking forward to the next one 💛

These women were brave 💛

Not because they climbed a mountain.

Not because they ran a marathon.

Because they stepped in front of the camera📷.

For many women, that's harder than it looks.

Most arrive saying things like:

"I hate having my photo taken."

"I'm awkward."

"I never know what to do."

And yet they show up anyway.

That's bravery🦸‍♀️.

The wonderful thing about Brand Bloom🌸 is that nobody is doing it alone.

Together with Corinna from , we've created something that feels less like a photoshoot and more like a supportive community of women cheering each other on.

There's laughter.
Encouragement.
Connection.

And somewhere along the way, confidence starts to grow.

Not because confidence comes first.

But because bravery does.

These photos were taken at our beautiful Laburnum Arch session and I couldn't be more proud of every woman who chose to be visible that day 💛

✨ 5% More Visible Monday ✨

I've been thinking a lot about visibility lately.

Not the loud, shouty kind.

The everyday kind.

The kind that helps people understand who you are and how you can help.

The kind that feels a little uncomfortable sometimes.

So here's my question for you this week:

What would being 5% more visible look like?

Not 50%.

Not "completely reinvent your marketing."

Just 5%.

Maybe it's:

💛 Posting a photo of yourself

💛 Updating your profile picture

💛 Sharing an opinion

💛 Starting a conversation

💛 Finally pressing publish on something you've been sitting on

Small actions.

Small brave steps.

Because confidence doesn't usually come first.

In my experience, confidence grows when we do the thing we weren't quite ready for.

So tell me...

What would being 5% more visible look like for you this week? 💛👇

VISIBILITY IS A FUNNY THING...

Most of us know it's important.

We know people connect with people🤝.

We know showing our face helps build trust.

And yet...

So many women tell me they're putting it off.

Not because they don't care about their business.

Not because they don't have anything valuable to say.

But because being seen feels vulnerable🙈.

Being photographed feels vulnerable.

Showing up feels vulnerable.

I get it.

But here's what I've noticed.

Confidence rarely arrives before we take action.

It usually arrives afterwards.

After we post the photo.

After we introduce ourselves.

After we do the thing we weren't quite ready for.

So if you've been waiting until you feel confident enough...

Maybe confidence isn't the starting point.

Maybe bravery is 💛

✨ 5% More Visible Monday ✨

I'm starting something new.

Not because I think we all need to be louder.

Or busier.

Or suddenly become confident overnight.

But because I know so many brilliant women who are waiting.

Waiting until they feel ready.

Waiting until they're more confident.

Waiting until they have the perfect photo, the perfect website, the perfect words.

And while they're waiting, they're staying hidden.

So here's my question for you this Monday:

What would being 5% more visible look like this week?

Not 50%.

Not a complete overhaul of your marketing.

Just 5%.

Maybe it's:

💛 Updating your profile photo

💛 Posting a picture of yourself

💛 Sharing something you've been overthinking

💛 Introducing yourself to a new connection

💛 Finally pressing publish

Small actions.

Small brave steps.

Because confidence rarely arrives first.

In my experience, confidence grows when we do the thing we weren't quite ready for.

One small step at a time.

One vote for the person we're becoming.

So I'd love to know...

What would being 5% more visible look like for you this week? 💛

If you've ever thought:

🙈"I hate having my photo taken."

🙈"I never like photos of myself."

🙈"I'm awkward in front of the camera."

🙈"I don't know what to do."

Can I let you into a little secret?🤫

You're not unusual.

In fact, I'd say around 90% of the women I photograph say some version of this before their shoot.

And I completely understand why.

Being photographed feels vulnerable.

You're putting yourself in front of the camera and hoping you'll like what you see.

That's a big thing.

But here's what I've noticed over the years.

The women who tell me they're awkward?

Usually aren't.

The women who tell me they hate photos?

Usually end up choosing far more favourites than they expected.

And the women who arrive feeling nervous?

Often leave saying:

"That was actually fun."

Not because they've suddenly become super confident.

Not because they've magically learned how to pose.

But because they've felt safe enough to relax.

That's where the shift happens.

Not in the camera.

Not in the lighting.

In the experience.

So if you've been telling yourself you're awkward, unphotogenic, or just "not one of those people"...

Maybe that's not the truth.

Maybe you've just never been photographed in a way that lets you be yourself 💛

One of the things I loved most about our Cherry Blossom Brand Bloom wasn't the blossom.

It was the women.

Women who showed up despite feeling nervous.

Women who wanted to be more visible in their businesses.

Women who were willing to take one small brave step.

Because confidence isn't usually where these sessions begin.

Most start with:

"I'm awkward."

"I hate having my photo taken."

"What do I do with my hands?"

But something shifts when you're surrounded by supportive women who understand exactly how that feels.

There's laughter.
Encouragement.
Connection.

And before long, confidence starts to grow.

That's the magic of Brand Bloom.

Beautiful photos are part of it.

But community is a huge part too.

Corinna Connect Women In Biz and I will be back at Roundhay Park on 18th June and we'd love to welcome you 💛 👉 https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/brand-bloom-photoshoot-roundhay-park-leeds-tickets-1596583627609

One of my favourite parts of a brand shoot happens long before I pick up my camera.

The conversation.

When Lizzie and I started planning her shoot, we talked about her business, her clients and what makes her different.

What quickly became clear was that the traditional "spa" look wasn't really her.

She's not all candles, fluffy robes and cucumber slices.

She's a busy lady with a full-time job, building a Tample Spa business, juggling life and embracing the chaos that comes with it.

But she also loves the outdoors 🌳and reading📚.

And that's where she finds calm😌.

Temple Spa isn't separate from her life.

It's part of how she creates balance within it⚖️.

And that's the story we wanted to tell.

Because great brand photography isn't about creating a version of yourself that looks like everyone else.

It's about helping people see what makes you uniquely you.

That's where connection happens 💛

Today I was working with Andy at Haworth Steam Brewing Co 🍺📸

I've been teaching him photography... All with one goal:

Helping him confidently take his own photos for the business.

But today wasn’t really about camera settings.

It was about atmosphere.

The cosy corners.
The warm light.
The delicious food.
The welcoming feeling you get when you walk into a pub like this.

Because great brand photos don’t just show people what you do.

They help people feel something.

That’s the difference.

Whether I’m photographing a business owner or teaching someone to photograph their own brand… it always comes back to the same thing:

✨ connection
✨ feeling
✨ story

(Also… I did leave with a suspicious amount of delicious food, so I’d say the day was a success 😅)

The reason you keep putting off new brand photos…
…isn’t because you don’t need them.

It’s because you don’t trust the outcome.

You’re worried you’ll hate them.
That you’ll feel awkward.
That it’ll confirm every doubt you already have.

So instead you:
– Keep using old photos
– Avoid showing your face
– Overthink every post

And here’s the part nobody says out loud:
It’s making your business feel harder than it needs to be😳.

Because when you don’t like your photos…
you don’t use them.
And when you don’t use them…
you stay inconsistent, hesitant, hidden🫣.

But when you do like them?
Everything flows faster.
Showing up feels lighter.
Confidence follows💪.

Not because you changed.
Because your experience did.

If you’ve been putting it off… I get why 💛
