Searches are underway for missing Lancashire teenager Jay Slater, who was holidaying in Tenerife when he disappeared.
The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle was on the island with friends for a music festival, and last spoke to them at around 8am on June 17th.
He’d been to stay with people he’d met on the island after a night out, but has been in touch with his friend Lucy before setting off walking back. He said he was lost, needed a drink of water, and that he only had 1% battery left on his phone. He’s not been heard from since.
Family have flown out to Tenerife to join the searches, which are being conducted in the village of Masca, and the Rural de Teno park. Police are stopping motorists in the area and asking for any information on Jay’s whereabouts.
Helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs have also been used during the search operations, and a spokesperson for the Civil Guard in Tenerife and said the emergency services are doing ‘everything possible’ to find the teenager.
