Thunderstorm warning? 🌩️ Rain absolutely hammering down? 🌧️ A wedding party who clearly decided F it, we’re doing it anyway? YES PLEASE. 😂🖤
This afternoon’s wedding was everything I live for.
We started at Sheffield Town Hall, which was full royal vibes 👑✨. We were only allowed onto the bottom five steps, but honestly? Who needs the rest when you can make that work? We utilised every inch and created some absolutely gorgeous, dramatic portraits.
Then the rain arrived… and the ladies absolutely braved it. (So did me and my second shooter, obviously — although we came home with what can only be described as small indoor puddles in our shoes. The image of us tipping water out of them when we got home is going to live rent-free in my head. 😂)
And then… PRIVATE FUNFAIR. 🎠🌈
Because obviously, if you have the opportunity to take photos with a merry-go-round in the pouring rain on your wedding day, you bloody well do it. Followed by a quick jaunt over to the Winter Gardens for even more fun, colourful, completely unapologetic photos.
This entire session was absolutely dripping in “I don’t give an F” energy — vibrant colours, rain-soaked chaos, huge smiles and two people who were clearly just there to have the best damn time. And I was LIVING FOR IT.
And somewhere amongst all of this, I got to live my full The Notebook romantic fantasy… standing in the rain, kisses happen in the rain, while photographing two women completely besotted with each other. 🥹🌧️❤️
Honestly, give me a thunderstorm, a funfair, a colourful venue and two women who aren’t afraid to get absolutely drenched for the sake of a good photograph, and I am one very happy photographer.
What. A. Wedding. 🌩️🎠🌈💍
