The Red Chapel in Black Bourton village in West Oxfordshire was built using red bricks from Bampton in 1861 and was a primitive Methodist Chapel.

It sits on the edge of Sprout Green and is a really picturesque entrance to the village in all seasons.

Here it is pictured in Winter.

After a surprise dumping of snow, I of course headed out for a walk around the village. Beech leaves stubbornly clinging on to branches provided a pop of colour amid the white blanket over the village of Black Bourton.

Broadway Tower is a very recognisable Cotswolds landmark and was the idea of the famous landscaper Capability Brown and was built by architect James Wyatt in 1794.

William Morris, founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement, lived occasionally in Broadway Tower which was rented at the time by Cormell Price, a friend of William Morris and other artists.

Snowdrops are one of my favourite parts of January and February as it’s always a thrill to spot the little, tiny, white flowers popping out of the ground on their vivid, green stalks. They are such delicate, beautiful flowers and full of hope and promise that Spring is not far away.

I found this tiny, little clump of Snowdrops under a tree on a New Year’s Day walk around the small village of Black Bourton in West Oxfordshire. They had yet to open their tiny petals and looked so fresh and new; almost as if they had pushed their way through the ground that morning!

Please have a look at my new, refreshed website. I’ll be concentrating on my images from in and around the Cotswolds and sharing more blogs about places I visit in this lovely part of the world.

There’s some prints, coasters and mugs available in my lovely online shop on my website and also on Etsy. See link in bio.

An afternoon walk around Willow Meadows in Carterton, Oxfordshire which is a few minutes from my house. It’s a gap between the town and the perimeter of RAF Brize Norton that has a stream running through it and is home to various wildlife.
Used the Leica app on my iPhone and I really like the results. It gives you various Leica lenses and film simulations to use and there’s no editing really required!
