One of my favourite parts of maternity photography is capturing the excitement of the whole family.

"Is Your Studio Safe and Warm for Newborns?"

My studio in Mapperley, Nottingham is carefully prepared before every session to ensure it is warm, hygienic and calming for both baby and parents.

The room temperature can be gently increased so your newborn stays comfortable while being wrapped, posed or cuddled. All fabrics, blankets and props are cleaned and sanitised between sessions, and everything used is soft, baby-safe and carefully chosen.

Your baby is always fully supported during posing, and I never force positions that don’t feel natural or safe.

Parents are welcome to relax, watch, have a drink, or simply enjoy a quiet moment while I work gently with your baby.

This is something nearly every new parent worries about — “What if my baby won’t sleep?”

Please don’t stress… it honestly doesn’t matter.

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led, which means we follow your baby’s rhythm, not a strict schedule. Some babies sleep deeply, others stay awake for part or all of the session — both are completely normal.

At my Mapperley, Nottingham photography studio, everything is kept calm, warm and soothing so your baby feels safe and relaxed. Even awake images can be incredibly beautiful, capturing those tiny expressions, stretches and early eye contact.

There is never any pressure for your baby to “perform.”
Feeding breaks, cuddles and settling time are all built into the session.
Most parents arrive feeling anxious and leave amazed at how peaceful the experience was.
